2020 Jets

That is a completely worthless video. Look how much room he had in the pocket, and with tons of time too. I'm not attacking you personally.

If he has a zillion videos of him running fast with defenders on his tail, and then he's throwing darts into small windows - then you got something. That was Aaron Rodgers is/was.

Look at the Bills Josh Allen before and after building up the offense.. night and day. It all starts with the coach and GM.. The rest is built. Darnold is a pretty good QB. Without a line and weapons nobody will ever find out. Need a coach with a vision though and. GM that is Savy both drafting and free agent and grabs value all over the field.
I think Darnold can be a decent QB with some weapons, but I think Lawrence has Pro Bowl/MVP caliber potential. I'm afraid Darnold is already infected with the Jet virus from Gase and terrible players around him. By the way, whoever said defense wins is wrong. Another week of needing to score 30+ to win. If you don't have playmakers, you don't score TD's. If you don't score TD's, you don't win games. OBJ scored a huge TD to seal game on a play a Jet would've been tackled for a loss of 2 yards on. It's on the QB to get you the ball, but what happens when you catch it is completely up to talent. Speed and elusiveness. We have zero.
Well you only need to score 30+ because you don't have a good defense. That said good defense has been castrated the past 10-20 years so yeah it's all about how many points you can put on the board. And yes Jets suck at skill positions. But I would say that above average QB and skill players with a killer OL works well too whereas Good QB and skill players with a shite OL doesn't.

I can't imagine anyone would be shocked by this. I'm more worried about actually being able to trade him than what we'd get for him.

On a positive note the Chiefs lost today so the Jets didn't lose any ground to them in the race for home field advantage throughout the playoffs.

It would be the Jets luck to trade Darnold, get little to nothing in return, and have Darnold eventually develop into an All Pro caliber QB

Washington FC is a potential landing spot. I'm a number of other places as well.

Washington FC... it’s like they joined the Premier League or something.

And since I shared on the Giants thread, it’s only fair that I spread a little happiness here as well

One of the few teams the Jets could probably fleece a 1st rounder out of for Darnold.

I'm actually really excited at this point...we may really be able to get 1st pick at this rate. I don't want Gase fired because we are tanking now and need to keep it up. He's just the guy for it.

But the most Jets things ever would be:

1. We go 0-16, draft Lawrence and he pulls an Eli and forces a trade
2. We go 0-16, but Lawrence decides to stay 1 more year in college to avoid the Jets
3. We go 0-16, get Lawrence at #1, and he tears his ACL first play OR he is healthy but we keep drafting defense like we have the past 10 yrs.

thats the thing, getting a talent like lawrence could save the jets from themselves. Let's face it, Darnold has been screwed over yes, but he isn't the Aaron Rodgers type of player who can make stuff happen no matter who is around him. The jets need a QB who can is that damn good that he can thrive even with the bullshit around him. Is Lawrence that? Who knows, he's been quarterbacking a high functioning college dynasty the last 3 years. What a contrast to what he is probably going to step into if he puts on the green and white

I really don't understand what is so hard about creating a competitive team. Tank for a guy like Lawrence, trade Darnold for best picks possible. We already have lots of 1st rounders. Use a 1st on a top notch WR built for speed, later rounds for a tall deep threat, use another 1st on OL, sign more in FA, and get a later round RB with potential. That team would beat this Jets team by 30 in year 1.

What do you think you'll get back for Darnold?
