2020 Jets

How do people feel about Pederson being coach? There were rumors of Jets trying to trade for him, but those died quickly when he ended up getting fired. Does the stunt he pulled overshadow even a Super Bowl victory?

Pederson is an absolute a$$ IMO
He absolutely bungled the QB situation in Philly
He cost the Giants a playoff berth with his antics in the Washington game
Watch the Jets hire him
With Douglass in charge, it would not surprise me one single bit

Sounds like he hits all the right buttons for Johnson

I didn't care for how he handled that last game but I don't follow the division much. He did win a SB and given Douglas's connection to Philly, a hire here wouldn't surprise me.

I live right near Philly and have my entire life... my whole moms side of the family, all big Philly fans. So I've followed Doug closely, every eagles game is a big deal in my household.

Do I think Doug could be a decent hire? Sure.

but he undoubtedly had a really rough year this season. His play calling was very shaky, and many in the Philly area attribute their super bowl run to OC Frank Reich, who left the eagles to become coach of the colts.

With that said I don't think Doug is an asshole. He doesn't have a very strong personality or anything, he's just kinda bleh, but he's not an asshole. I was disgusted at them throwing that game to end the year, but that call was obviously coming from up top. He probably thought it'd help his job security if he helped secure a better draft pick. Guess the joke is on him.

with all this said no I don't want Doug. But many Jets fans are having meltdowns online at the idea of it. I wouldn't be devastated, he just wouldn't be my choice. If they do hire him, there are some positives that I could get behind. He's a very aggressive offensive minded coach, which would be a breath of fresh air, because Gase was such, excuse my language, a pussy. He never took any chances he just would lie down when faced with any tough decision. Doug will go down swinging. I like that. It's time we start getting coached like we believe we can win. But no, I'd rather go in a different direction.

but some of the other names getting floated around don't get me too excited either. I was on the Daboll train, but honestly I thought he called a shit game this past weekend. they probably lose that game if Indy didn't make some terrible situational mistakes. Josh Allen had to bail out Daboll, who was questionably not calling plays to his QBs strength. So some of the shine has come off with him.

bienemy? I just don't know... he's also an Andy Reid disciple just like Doug. We'll see what happens

also, go Justin fields!

IMO some of those top draft picks are fools gold.  Can often trade down and get like double the talent, especially if you're in such need like the Jets are.

I have no clue what the Jets do in April but I do like Robert Saleh a lot. If he hires a good OC I think that would be a very good move for changing the Jets culture

Take Sewell or trade down. Of course watch the Dolphins take Devonta Smith.

"Tua to Devonta". Has a familiar ring to it.

I'm good with this hire. But I still want to see offensive players with the first four or five pics.

I thought they would have brought in an experienced OC to help Darnold but he is bringing in the passing game coordinator from the niners.

Think this hire and OC hire means Darnold is safe, but we will see.
How do you guys feel about Jimmy G.? There's chatter out here about swapping QB problems to see if changes of scenery help both guys.

Great hire for the Jets. If we are not going to draft another quarterback I would stick with Sam. It would be great to see him succeed here and not in San Francisco.

Not saying you are wrong, but is that your gut feeling or is someone in the media suggesting that?

I've never been a darnold fan, but he should be concerned.  He now has a GM, HC and OC that weren't involved in drafting him and will have zero reservations about moving on from him.
