2019 Transfers
A Razorback fans says on JJ he expects Arkansas RS PG Justice Hill to transfer to STJ.

For sure, it depends on what the Staff wants to do.
Judging by CMA's rep as a 'guardian' type coach and mentor, he may well provide a new home court to 1 - 2 of his Arkansas kids.
And it would be best for the kid and SJU if Musselman made his decision, 'first'.
Got to think though that much depends on the outcome of the Derryck Thornton 'sweepstakes' being played out at Gonzaga now.
We should know soon.

Source: Alabama wing Tevin Mack will transfer. Averaged 9.0 PPG & 3.3 RPG this past season. Will be eligible to play elsewhere right away.
Not a need
In a perfect world SJU would pursue ONLY players that fit a specific need AND are talented enough to play immediately.

This is not a perfect world.

Simply put if I give you a choice between landing a big man who is a complete project or a wing player who can start or play serious minutes off the bench IMMEDIATELY (even though you have solid wings) in my book you go with the wing player period. Let the rest sort itself out.
That's fair, but remember it's a two way street - bigger issue is why would the player come here where he probably wouldn't even start in his last year of eligibility vs many other places where he would

Has anybody seen or heard anything about staff showing interest in 6'3" grad transfer guard Ryan Woolridge from North Texas? Averaged 12 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists last year and had similar numbers the year before. Appears to be one of the few grad transfer point guards left with decent size besides Thornton (who would be first choice) although consistently shoots free throws below 60%.

TJ follows him on Twitter, but don’t get sense SJU has much of a shot. I believe Oklahoma State was targeting him along with others.

I don’t know if this was posted or not but as Hill was a walk-on At Arkansas, should he transfer he will be eligible immediately.

Another big probably a greater need and a PG definitely is but with 3 schoolies left another wing scorer would also help. Grad transfer that wouldn't eat up a future schollie and we need a third scorer and another 3 point shooter. Figgy and Heron won't both be on the court together the whole game and as we saw last year with heron there are injury issues to consider not to mention foul trouble. Always like a team to have 3 primary scorers plus other guys that "can" score.

Wow, that's tough news for Pikiell. I'm sure this kid will be swamped with big name suitors. Love to have him, but I'm guessing he wants to leave to play his last year for a team with big tourney hopes.

Omoruyi had a serious injury last season and may want to sit a year before playing again

Quentin Grimes of Kansas withdrew from draft but entered portal.

This is the type of sit transfer I wouldn't mind landing. 5 star stud who started all 36 games for a big time program. Not tremendous numbers but this kid will compete for starting spot as soon as he steps on campus.

You know it's really slim pickings when a guy who averaged 7 and 4 and is a big if to finally put it all together is the best option we have.

I think LSU is now looking at Eric Hamilton, a bad sign, but isn't EH still on our radar?

Their radar is more expensive

Got it. Thanks Paultz.
He's still being followed by TJC and following him, but I won't let that fool me...this time. Lol.
