Izzo was on Rothstein podcast. He said he hates the immediate transfer stuff. But with everyone else getting away with it you have to try

That is one of the fallouts of the extremely subjective, inconsistent waiver rulings; if Izzo doesn’t try is the next potential transfer going to nix Michigan State because they didn’t even give it a shot? All yes or all no although I do think the one “free” transfer is a very acceptable alternative.

If he wants to use his last year of eligibility, he has to transfer as the Ivy’s don’t let you use a redshirt season and gain another year of eligibility.
