2019 Transfers

Rothstein
Source: North Texas grad transfer Ryan Woolridge will visit Minnesota on Sunday. Recently visited Arkansas. Immediately eligible.

Lots of names, but it’s been extremely quiet on our front as far as impact players goes. Hope that changes at some point. Need a player or two yet.

Quiet as far as we know.
They're probably looking at these players, but keeping it on the D/L.
We know CMA doesn't let much get out.

I’m hoping. We grabbed some pieces so far but mostly role-players. I know there’s not a ton out there but we really do need a big man and a another PG, hopefully of the Jc/grad transfer type and theyre flying off the board pretty fast. This program won’t be rebuilt in a day, but would be nice to look forward to next season with some hope.

Looks like Oregon may be favored for Anthony Mathis, the Grad Transfer of the day.
Here's hoping we're able to get a seasoned G/PG, as well as one more PF/C, soon.

Competent point guard recruit proving elusive, but not from lack of trying. Have to believe this hard working group will fill this void.

Don't like the sound of that Paultz

Sorry, not intended that way. Just appreciating, so late in the game, it is not easy to land someone competent at such a key position. Hopefully Thornton resurfaces, but does not appear so.

Is Thornton visiting soon? It's getting super late here, so I think we need to just bring Glen Anderson in. Two small PGs are not ideal, but it may be more ideal than 30 minutes of McGriff, seven minutes of Williams, and three minutes of X . . .

Nothing concrete re Thornton visit materialized thus far.

I don't know much about Anderson but from what I understand, he is a pro and will not "panic sign" players. I would not be at all surprised with a Plan B that has Williams and Figueroa initiating some offense from the wing. Who better to learn that from than Pressey? This is not Anderson and company's first rodeo.

Not disputing what you know or hear but I find it a bit confusing. Power 6 conference. 2 guys on the team who who boost a PG's numbers in LJ and Heron. Immediate starters minutes. Yes not a slam dunk guaranteed tournament team or anything. Not sure why its really a struggle to find a JUCO or 5th year PG option.

Agree & suspect staff is selling exactly that, so maybe we’ll be pleased soon.

I've always hated when big guys steal from little guys, but part of me is hoping Hamlet and DeMeo are having back channel communications.

Yeah, I've been backroom thinking about that also, LJSA. Lol.
But, wouldn't Hamlet have to then, 'sit out' a year since he committed and I think 'signed' with NT?
Sid Wilson 2.0...or no?

Sid was on our campus and a summer student, I believe. Hamlet is still at his juco. Usually a school would let a kid out of his LOI if his current coach got a job somewhere.

What are the chances he wants to play a lot of PG to showcase himself for scouts? (And what are the chances he's capable of it?)

When it came to the forward positions, there was no harm in taking a shot on a few 3-star, young, JUCO types. Now we're shopping for someone to fill big minutes at PG, so staff needs to be a little more discerning. I think they eventually pull the trigger on someone more immediately prepared than McGriff.

K, man do I hope you're right, but 'technically', DeMeo was no longer going to be Hamlet's 'coach', so I'm not sure, if it would still work that way.
Hope so!
