2019 Transfers

Greg Williams is not a PG, his strength is as a slashing wing which is a very different skillset. Maybe someday, but not this year.

Not ideal, maybe not even feasible, and certainly premature, but last time I looked we’ve got but 1 PG on the roster.
Hopefully, the Staff can find a solid PG at this late date but as they say, “necessity is the mother of invention’.
Lol.

Shocked Mr. Blackshear hasn't committed to Kentucky yet, following a Calipari home visit over a month ago.
Can KY be 'full'?
Maybe the NBA is a real option for the guy, he 'blew up' last season...at VA Tech.

Does "up in the air" mean he isn't actually graduating and needs to do summer work in order to transfer without sitting?

One of my Bronx connections told me a month ago that he was probably ours for the taking. But that was before coach was hired.
If it was when Mullin was coach I would be skeptical of that. Since IW and Sidney Wilson were very close and the way Wilson left here and we didn't help his waiver cause.

That being said I think Iona is probably the perfect level for IW. Let him go and do his jellyfam flashy stuff there.
The star on that kid has faded badly.
Although he was never offered a scholarship at St. John's, IW publicly announced he was taking himself out of the running for a position on the roster.
Rodney Howard’s decision to back out of Ole Miss this week came as a bit of a surprise. The Georgia native who spent this year at Legacy Charter in South Carolina committed early to the Rebels and Kermit Davis. With him back on the open market, high-major schools looking to add a big man late are all over him.

On Wednesday night, Howard told me Georgia, Georgia Tech, Illinois, LSU, Miami, Nevada, Pittsburgh, South Carolina, St. John’s, Virginia Tech and Wisconsin had already reached out within hours of him decommitting. He’s already set an official visit to Georgia Tech for May 25-26. Keep an eye on Georgia and South Carolina in this one, too. The Bulldogs were involved the first time around, although he committed shortly after Tom Crean took over, and the Gamecocks have his close friend and Legacy Charter teammate Jalyn McCreary signed already.

This guy looks like a jump ball between the trio of UGA, GT, a s SC.
Hopefully, EH is still our Plan A.

Whitt had a 49% FG and averaged 4 assists and had a triple double last season. If he can play point might be perfect addition.

Whitt, who averaged a team-high 35 minutes per game this season, was a major contributor for the Mustangs and SMU's leader at the point. Whitt averaged 12.3 points per game, and team-highs in rebounds per game (6.4) and assists per game (4). He became well-know for being the American Athletic Conference's top zone-buster, utilizing a wonky-looking but deadly accurate mid-range shot to keep SMU in ballgames.

I didn't know mid range jumpers were still legal

So if we get him and even if his wonky looking shot proves effective it will give some posters the opportunity to critique his shooting form and offer advice on how to improve it.
Whitt would definitely be a nice bridge player to 2020 when the staff hopefully lands a stud PG.
Has a player ever left a coach transferred and then ended up transferring back to the original coach?
