2019 Coaching Changes
I don't see how the Hall pays Hurley's ASU buyout.

How mad is this board gonna be when VT hires Willard and SH hires Bobby Hurley to replace him?
Cluess more likely than Bobby

I'm a broken record, but I don't think Willard is leaving the Hall. Willard has reached his peak efficiency at SHU. He's not a terrific recruiter, but he is very steady. He's not an amazing tactician, but he knows basketball. I will say I think he is a good game coach and the players like him. He also seems to care about their well being. Willard was also very good hiring assistant coaches. He hired some to bring in recruits like Whitehead and Angel. He hired Shaheen who was a former SHU guy who worked his tale off recruiting and he hired grant billmeier, who saved Herb Pope's life so there's that. People say good things about Skinn and I know very little about Woodward, I assume Willard is also grooming Kyle Smyth for a career in coaching as well.

If he leaves SHU is going to hire Holloway. No doubt in my mind about that.

"A Mr. Phelps is holding for you on line 1, Mr. Stackhouse. He says he's an old friend."
ESPN reporting Jamie Dixon likely staying at TCU
I'm at the Adidas party tonight and UCLA search is the talk of the party. They can't believe they were not able to come to an agreement on his buyout. Kind of awkward for Dixon to go back since it is clear he had interest in leaving.

Some buzz about going after Chris Beard. Cronin still on the list. But not sure where they turn.

Beard is two wins away from proving that he doesn't need to go anywhere. Shaka would have been a good fit if Texas tried to beat A&M to the punch. They certainly had the money to try.

$mart move by Willard

Good for Willard staying with the Hall. Think it was the right move for him and I'm pretty sure he will get some positive adjustment to his contract out of it. Good coach in the right job.

Plus he can wait for much better offers that va tech next year. Blacksburg should be renamed Blackhole.

"Having seen Buffalo play live it's immediately evident the cohesive approach & maximum effort given, has been the winning formula for success. I'm pleased Buffalo will continue to build on the their strong culture by promoting Jim Whitesell. Jim is respected by his peers & colleagues because of his ability to teach & prepare teams at the elite levels of the game. His track record speaks for itself as he has helped build winning programs at prior coaching stops. As an assistant coach Jim played an instrumental role in our run to the 2015 NCAA Tournament in my final season at St. John's University. I cannot think of a more qualified & deserving candidate to receive this coaching opportunity!" - Steve Lavin, College Basketball Analyst

Congratulations to former St Johns assistant coach Jim Whitesell. He has been promoted to become the new Head Coach at the University of Buffalo. He was the Associate Head Coach there for the past four years. Nate Oats credited him with being a large part of the success that the team had during that time. Could not have happened to a nicer individual.

Sources: Nevada's Eric Musselman is finalizing a deal to become the next head coach at Arkansas. Official announcement expected soon.

Arkansas can get an up and coming coach but St Johns in NYC with the Big East and MSG can't? Not that we'd want EM but still. Listen to the fans, change must come

Richard Pitino gets a two-year contract extension at Minnesota.

The person who changed Thad Matta's wikipedia page to say that he was the coach of Arkansas is going to be bummed.
