Wish I could reply in the other forum.

I asked again and was told Simon is 100% NOT transferring. Take that to the bank.
If Simon stays that alone should put Linx in the regular forum
But if he's wrong that means double secret probation. ;) :)

I think this is the weakest the BE has ever been. This was supposed to be the best team we've had in a long time. I believe we were picked to finish 3rd, but finished 7th.Next year most of the other teams will be stronger, due to our recruiting, or lack thereof, we will be weaker. Future recruiting looks bleak to say the least. Posters here believe Mullin is safe for next year, if not the following year. They talk about how competitive he is. Why? Because he is a tall guy who loves shooting hoops, loved playing? If he was competitive , wouldn't he be working hard at recruiting? Is it possible that outside the NBA he has never really worked the way most people understand it, in his life? Could it be SJU has become a sort of no-show job for basketball celebrities? When a coach will not recruit, has teams the appear not to have been coached, is getting 2 million+ a year, and does not get fired, something is seriously wrong.

Don't you have plenty of other threads to complain about Mullin in? Have you seen any of the players coming in play? Let's try to keep it about that.
On a good team Simon is your typical 6th man
He should be shooting elbow jumpers all offseason. If he improves on that shot he would make our zone offense so much better. Teams gave him that shot all season.

This is what pisses me off. Simon has been here for 3 years and still has terrible form on his jump shot. With Mullin and Richmond on our staff, two outstanding shooters and Hall of Famers, you would think that they would have worked with Simon to fix his shot by now. His shot is so bad that teams don't bother guarding him at the 3 point line.

so you are sure they haven't worked with Simon on his shot? how many coaches worked with Shaq on his foul shooting to no avail.

Topic is called "Next Year". It's filled with speculation about which players will transfer out as well as you suggesting we fire 2 assistant coaches. Is suggesting we should fire the architect of this dumpster fire off base. And as far as the players coming into play, the only quality HS recruit we have is now rumored to be decommiting from his verbal.

wheres simon going closer to home? the pac 12 teams are equal or worse than us....remember our motto: We don't want anyone here who don't WANT to be here! Also notice, marcus lovett using St johns background on social media posting a st johns tweet, no thanks quitter

I said replace and suggested sliding Mitch Richmond back into his original role as a special advisor. Also, DOBO and other roles. Bringing in Davis which would give us another strong recruiter with great connections. Addition. I'm not here to advocate for another man's job wether I agree with or not.

We have Steere,Wright,Caraher, Mack, and Manuel coming in. Tabor is 2020. Also basing feelings off a poster who pointed out that Matt and Tabor aren't following each other on twitter....Tabor doesn't even use the site. Let's see what happens.

Both Oregon & Washington are clearly better than us. Please no comparisons between Lovett and Justin. Justin hasn't said he's leaving, it's pure speculation which this board loves; if he does leave it will be after spending three years here and graduating. Whatever his shooting challenges may be, he's always given 100% on the court and represented us well.
Maybe the solution to this revolving door of the past few years is to provide the kids with an experience where they want to stay as long as possible.

LOL!!!!

Edit: I guess pretty much anyone can enter the NBA draft, right? Doesn't mean he's committing to leaving. Still seems ridiculous.

Maybe he just wants to earns some money, somewhere.

He's already transferred once, probably does not want to sit out again. With some big guys coming in next year, he probably saw the writing on the wall.

Yep. This to me says he has no intention of returning and is going to try playing professionally somewhere.

This transfer model is not working. A few work out well, but can't build our entire roster on transfers. For every Simon (who is likely also leaving) there are two Keitas.

Maybe he wants feed back on the possibility there is one aspect of his game he doesn't need to work on. Seemed like a good kid and a good teammate but seemed to lack basketball instincts (maybe fairly new to the game?). Don't mean this he a misogynistic or demeaning manner but he brings to mind the expression used to describe George Foster's play in left field for the Mets back in the day-he looks like he is playing in high heels (often seemed to be turned in the wrong direction, standing out of bounds on D, not in position to rebound).

Why would a fan speculate that Simon is leaving ? To me , without credible evidence , of which none have surfaced , it’s a rumour . Simon has advantages to staying and not going elsewhere . Number 1 , he will be a Starter and get Starter minutes . He’s proven he has exceptional Defensive skills and knows the BE and the players who will be playing next Year . He is a valuable player , Defensive Specialist but , where would he go that will give him the opportunity that he’s already earned here and penciled into the Starting 5 ? Speculation like this is a negative commentary that doesn’t play well .

Speculation on a message board means nothing. Clearly the committee wasn't fazed by it.

Simon is a senior and has the ability to transfer for free. He will never be able to play college ball again. So do you play for 10-12 win rebuilding team or go to a winner where he can be the last piece to their tournament puzzle
