Between the depleted roster and the possible departure of Matt, it sure seems like Mullin has the perfect exit strategy, with the perfect back story. He came to restore credibility, the team improved every year, they filled the garden and made the dance, and he did it with quality kids and a clean recruiting program. He needs to spend more time out west than the job allows, and to be fair to his family and St. John's basketball, he has to leave the program to someone who can build on his success. Probably not going to happen, but it seems like a better time to go than after the possibility of 3 wins in conference next season.
