It’s worth noting Walker followed us a while ago when Matt A was recruiting him for St. John’s. I would take him in a heartbeat, sit out or not.

His transfer statement included that he wanted to be closer to home in Florida. So not sure how that will play into this.

CMA and TJ also recruited Walker when they were at Arkansas, they recruited him for a while, I remember his name mentioned several times and at one time we thought we had a shot.

With that said, after reading Walker's transfer letter, it appears he's going to try to land close to home in Florida. I know Mike White, the coach at Florida, recruited CJ super hard, some thought that's where he was going to end up. I think if Florida has room and wants him they would probably be the team to look out for.

Wonder of wonders, if St. John's found itself with the luxury of the 'choice' between Yor Anei and C.J. Walker--who would the Board favor?
Tough decision for a few reasons, I think.

Thank you Chicago
But the real wonder of wonders, "miracles of miracles" ( Fiddler on the Roof ), is that we are now involved with good kids and our interest is reciprocal in many instances!
And a kid's desire to be closer to home will bode well for us in the future - think Chris M., Mark Jackson, Malik Sealy, Shamorie et al.
Hooray for Red Storm basketball!

Chicago, I'd prefer Anei, just because you can't teach size and he could be the real impact big we've been trying to get for a while now. Understand he has one less year of eligibility than Walker but I still would prefer him, although I'd be delighted to see us get either one.

I agree NCJ. Kind of a tough choice, but Anei gives us our very elusive "big impact" Big at long last and I think changes the calculus on our season. Walker has great potential, but Anei seems the better fit for the team imo.
And, of course, this is probably an academic exercise, since Walker is a long shot, given his stated preference to 'go home'.

Unfortunately both seem academic exercises as you put it. One can hope though.

I find it crazy that we literally have a starting spot available at center in the Big East and yet can’t get traction here.

I agree, and hoping for the best and that Creighton's full.
Guess he's studying his options.

Is it called planning ? How is it that every team in conf has a center with ht puts us at a disadvantage from the jump
But have faith in this coach,we do a a6-10 kid and a cc 6-8 kid that is better than we had in a while

One of the top available grad transfers, Pauly Paulicap, has heard from DePaul, St. Bonaventure, Bowling Green, Eastern Michigan, Southern Illinois & Louisiana among others
Travis Branham

That's surprising, thought he would have heard from some bigger schools.

Kind of surprised Iona isn't on that list of schools contacting Pauly Paulicap.

But not from St. John's? That surprises me. Maybe the Staff's confident we'll get a 'big' 4th of July present from 'someone' else?!?
Kidding--but I am hoping.

P.S. DePaul's been active in the transfer market. I'm surprised they still have an open 'ship.

Iona is Manhattan's biggest rival. I would doubt he would consider there.

The list of schools after him is appropriate for him. We shouldn't be after him either.

I thought Fordham was Manhattan’s biggest rival.
