19-20 Transfers
I said after the "late" decision by LJ to transfer that there will be guys going into the Portal deep into Augiust.
But will we get any?

I see no reason why we should sanction ourself a scholarship this season when there’s talent out there to be had that can help us. It’s out there. Holding out hope.

Javian Davis had some very good games as a frosh against good competition. Would be a great pickup even if he has to sit a year and assuming he would. 6'9" and 240.

With our luck we will get a one year transfer and we won’t play a season

We have 12 scholarship players on the roster right now.
This staff as recruited 8 of them. One is a transfer from last summer, another a transfer from this summer.

What has this staff done in their 14 months on the job that would lead you to think that they wouldn't be able to fill that 13th spot if they wanted to?

Alabama transfer Javian Davis tells ESPN he’s heard from Mississippi State, Xavier, Arkansas, Tulane, Western Kentucky, Southern Miss, Louisiana Lafayette, Bakersfield, Jackson State and Alcorn State.

6-9, 240. Started 14 games last season. 6.0 PPG, 3.8 RPG. Three years to play.

Per Travis Branham

The transfer list has now climbed to 982 names, 708 of those being committed. There are currently 49 grad transfers available headed up by Yor Anei, Pauly Paulicap, Maxime Boursiquot, Justin Thomas & Jake Killingsworth.

Something doesn’t add up here. Maybe behind the scenes issues at play?

I was hoping we'd reach out to Davis. I didn't think he'd move north of Mississippi, but Bakersfield in there tell me he's willing to travel away from home.

I’m not faulting the staff. There will be a lot of competition for the very few solid late transfer additions and we are far from an ideal landing spot at the moment. I don’t think I’m going out on a limb by saying that it’s far from a certainty that we will fill our last spot as August approaches.

Manhattan grad transfer Pauly Paulicap has cut his list to Southern Illinois, DePaul, Florida International, St Bonaventure and Memphis

Watch him go to DePaul, have a good game against us, and the New York Post put DePaul-icap! on their back page.

Manhattan grad transfer Pauly Paulicap has committed to DePaul.

Immediately Eligible.

Will never understand how DePaul outrecruits us even as they are one of the only worse programs in the Big East than us last 5 yrs.

Were we even recruiting this kid? The only other prospects that comes to mind are Femi Olujibi and Ray Salnave. Salnave would have chosen us but we took a pass to save the scholly for Figgy. My recollection is that with Femi, the problem was that Mullin had better things to do than to show up and meet the kid when he visited.

Don't believe we were recruiting this guy.
It's probably a long shot, but I'm still hoping we land Yori Anei.

Not sure I would designate this as out recruiting us. As a gambler I have bet manhattan games. I’ve watched him play. He has put up some clunkers against not so good competition. He’s ok but you make it sound like we lost out here. We probably weren’t even recruiting him and for a good reason. He may come up with a couple decent games but overall don’t expect too much

It's too bad we don't have, oh, 20 open 'ships, then we could sign almost every name you'd like.:)

Seems pretty clear that staff wasn't interested in Paulicap. Will be interesting to see how he does for DePaul assuming games are played this season.
