That's one more in the win column for us! He torched us last season in DC!

It's only a matter of time before Ewing's ability to recruit dissipates. Can he last another 2 seasons at Georgetown without an NCAA bid?

I personally think it’s a neat dynamic and it sure can’t hurt rivalries.
Is the big ten the only conference that allows it? Someone said mcclung couldnt go to a big east team so i am trying to understand the dynamic.
I am not sure how many conferences allow inter-conference transfers but I do know the BE does not. In the past the ACC made you sit out two years and you could not accept a scholarship the first year if you transferred within the conference as an undergrad but has since changed that rule (BE had that one on the books for awhile also IIRC prior to its current rule).

It's a conference decision. Big East doesn't allow it. Although I could swear it used to be allowed, but you had to sit two years to do it.

But maybe two years was what transfers had to do if they left school without coach's permission. That sounds vaguely like what may have kept Hart at Syracuse years ago.

I believe the ACC forces you to sit two years although it does allow for grad transfers within conference.

B10 had similar rule to BE but ultimately changed it see story below. Ben Brust's transfer from Iowa to Wisconsin after he got a waiver around the rule ultimately led the B10 to change the rule.

Keep in mind one thing that really changed all of this was the transfer portal. Why? Well even if a conference allows intra-conference transfers a staff can block a kid from transferring to any school especially a school in their conference by simply not RELEASING him from his scholarship to a specific school or list of schools. That power allowed coaches to block kids from transferring to certain schools. The portal takes that away. The portal cannot override conference rules but now coaches have no say,

I have been to Miami's on campus arena several times
Miami is, and will always be, a football school
Basketball is an after thought, unless they are playing Duke or UNC

McClung final 7 -

McClung is deciding between Texas Tech, Auburn, Memphis, USC, BYU, Arkansas and Wake Forest.

Appears success breeds success. Hopefully we fall in line as it appears we will.
