This is the big we always wanted
Chances?
The big we always wanted but never get and that includes this time. Chances, well slim and none and both just left town.

Tell that to Jose Perez ;)

How is Robert's recuperation proceeding? If he is not quite ready does an academic scholarship with medical redshirt time give us more flexibility?

Valparaiso transfer Javon Freeman-Liberty tells ESPN he’s committed to DePaul.

First-team All-MVC averaged 19.0 PPG and 6.1 RPG.

“It’s really close to home and I definitely want to be back with my grandmother during this tough time,” Freeman said.

I like Salnave. Can really score and is fierce. Contingency for LJ I’m assuming. The kid is good and as a grad transfer even better. I’d love to get this roster settled already with LJ at this point to know what we have going into next year.

Contingency planning because the expectation is a greater than 50% chance that LJ decides to turn professional, so the staff is pleasantly surprised if he elects to return but has some options if he does not. Or someone else is considering a move. Or either of those are not likely to happen but they want to make sure diligence is done so we aren't left without options. Or some other creative options none of us are thinking about.

St Johns assistant Steve DeMeo spoke to Monmouth grad transfer Ray Salnave today. Both Cardozo alums. #sjubb

Interesting that we'd reach out to Salnave. Hopefully it means that Cole would be shifting to SF, and not that we are losing someone else. I think Salnave lives over by the Elmont Road side of the cemetery. If I were him, St. John's and Hofstra would be the only schools on my list unless some really big boys made an offer I couldn't refuse.

I always expected Cole at 6’6” or so to be a SF. Salnave is a really good scorer and aggressive kid. 85% FT shooter too. Staff will have done real well if they replace LJ with Salnave. He’s shorter but a scorer nonetheless. I’d hate to have an open ship from LJ and not fill it with a good grad transfer. We can have a real strong season and could use a kid like that. Smart move by the staff and a quality clutch-type player with experience.

Quite possible the flirtations with Perez & Salnave don’t come to anything imo.

I did too when it seemed like LJ was 100 percent gone. If he's back I was working off the premise that Cole is SG and LJ is SF.

I’m assuming that would mean LJ being back next year which would be the best case scenario imo. He knows the system and I think we’d see a better Figs with a great roster around him, forcing it a lot less. Fingers crossed he comes back for his last year.

If he returns, hopefully he cuts down on his floaters and stops and pops shot jumpers.

Greater than 50 percent chance he doesn’t come back? Do you have inside info bc that’s not what I’ve been hearing.
