Volpe thinks he’s a home run hitter. Strikes out too much.
Doesn't everybody in todays game.

cashman- I give him credit for the pen. each year yanks have deep and talented pen. of course he has yankee money to fill the pen. but he does a good job with the pen roster. few good reliefers leave the yanks. there are exceptions like david robertson.
volpe = does he wear leather or mittens? yanks are in mlbs bottom 3 in batting average. they struggle to score 4 runs per game. many games are close nail bitters, so every error is magnified if it leads to an opponent's score. if altuve makes an error, so what. the stros win 7 to 3 and not 7 to 2.
last nights yankee game, yanks down 1 zip after 5. that run came because the yank infield just could not make the defensive gem. that play was on my mind for 5 innings. I am surprised that volpe has many positive fielding stats. my mind pictures every volpe error becoming a yankee one run loss. I remember jeters first few years and he was not a smooth fielder. volpe is young, his stick is there.

Nice win for Yanks, Schmidt and the kids. If they go unbeaten (hah) the rest of the way, maybe they have a chance for the postseason.
But idiot Boone almost singlehandedly lost this game twice. He let Schmidt go too long when he was on fumes, and had the bullpen ready. Then he let Peralta go too far, when he had Loasiga, who only threw 9 pitches in the last 2 days.
And BTW, Stanton sucks.
