Yankees 2024 Season

Same old crap with this team. Revert right back to their season long issues. Can't hit, at bats are inefficient, can't seem to move along a ghost runner, Stanton always sucks, because even on the oft chance he puts the ball in play, he can't run worth a shit, baserunning is atrocious, fielding is sub-par, feels like half the team is always playing out of position, Boone is horrible as a Manager, etc.

Everytime Torres starts to look like maybe he has things figured out, he regresses and makes a boneheaded play. Low baseball IQ that rears it's head seemingly every other game.

Boone has really given up on the season. I can't remember when the leadership on this team was so bad, including the players, and there is little hope for the immediate future. Once again, I don't see the same game that he watches. How the hell he thinks Volpe is in the Gold Glove discussion is beyond me.

With the 2 new kids coming up and in the lineup this weekend, I predict a potential no-hitter by the Astros with the 3 starters they're throwing against one of the weakest lineups I've seen in my lifetime.

He pulled the same crap with Jeter when negotiating a new contract. Sometimes the fault does lay with the top guy. What is his successful record?
You're pretty dense if you can't call what he's done successful. How many GM's have lasted in a role in NYC no less and had 25 straight years of winning records.

You and a few others on this thread would argue him if he told you the sky was blue.

Consider this a bizarre thought, but what if they tell the player just prior to putting him on waivers? No rules against that, and you ensure that you are the one providing the message, and not via a leak. Earth shattering, I know, but at least it comes off as somewhat professional. And, with how this front office has not distinguished themselves in any way this year, I wouldn't give them any benefit of the doubt.
Hey I have a bizarre thought too. They were doing exactly what you suggested until someone leaked it to a reporter. Yeah I know. Reporters never leak things or get things early. Bizarro world I'm living in.

The other 3 major sports have salary caps while Cashman has enjoyed one of if not the highest payroll in baseball so really can only compare him to baseball GMs. Also has benefit of an owner who is afraid to make a move he would have been gone a long time ago under George. Other GMs have been more successful over the last 20 years or so winning multiple WS while Cashman got one in 2009 and hasn't been back since. Also don't give him much if any credit for the first 4 as Stick Michael built those teams.

If you think that the situation was handled well, then I don't know what else to say. And, if it's me, and it was leaked by someone in the front office, they would be unemployed.

But, in Yankee land, such accountability is only owned by the likes of Dillon Lawson or Aaron Hicks, not any of the decision makers.

game 134.
torres giveth and taketh away.
he is the yanks best hitter.
he is a poor fielder.
he is a tricaptain on the yanks ridiculous runners club.

Never said that's a good outcome. Just not ready to hang Cashman and automatically assume he did something wrong. I've worked in the industry long enough to know you can only control so much. There are lots of employees with access to information.

I guarantee if in 1998 you told every other MLB club, front office and fan base you could get them a GM who would have the team with a winning record for 25 straight years and win 4 titles. I bet you they would all sign up for it.

Of course you don't give him credit for those. I mean he wasn't part of that front office after all...........

If you were a Yankee fan, you wouldn’t define success as just a winning record. Last World Series win was 2009. You’ve been defending Cashman’s failures time and again. Are you related?

No I'm just a rational person. You are the furthest thing from that.

I wish you rooted for a losing franchise for 25 years. Imagine how much more miserable life would be.

You comments are worthless. You are a loser.

Read your comments moron.
Fine behavior from a moderator. I can read just fine. I say you're dense and Irrational and you call me a loser and moron.

But I'm sure you will just selectively delete this comment since you have that power.

I'm done here. There is no point in trying to talk about the Yankees here because the only other posters on this thread all want Cashman hung in effigy. The sooner you accept he will be back next year the easier it will be.

I do sincerely hope you can enjoy the young players that just came up. I hope the Martian hits tons of Ballentine Blasts for Section10. You have all seen the Yankees win A LOT. Most of you have seen a lot more wins than me. But I consider myself lucky to be a fan of the Yankees and have enjoyed baseball because of this. My enjoyment wouldn't be the same if I was a Royals, Pirates, Padres, Brewers, or whoever else. I have made a living from sports. I'm still a fan but maybe I have a different view as I've gotten older.

Just try and enjoy it. They will win again. They will win more than the vast majority of the League over 5, 10, 20 years. With or without Cashman.

as moose predicted, his first at bat a Ballantine blast. oh and dj gets a Getty.
Wells wallops a base knock.
