Yankees 2024 Season

Absolutely soul crushing loss today. They are inventing new and innovative ways of losing. And to think that Hal won’t even consider hitting flush on Cashman, the man truly responsible for this garbage. Unreal.
Best advice I can give you right now is to temper your expectations for this team, as long as Hal is in charge.

As an owner, I view him as basically James Dolan without the nastiness. Dolan-like, in that he is loyal to a fault, to the wrong people. Cashman being one, but also Randy Levine and a few others. And he'll back them, no matter how many people get hurt along the way.

Boone and Cashman are just symptoms of the bigger problem, which is Hal's ownership, at least in terms of the on-field product.

Same old shit with this team. Pitchers that can't get out of innings with 2 outs, and more baserunning mistakes. If Excuses Boone is not fired at the end of this season, I'm done.

And Bader gets picked off in the 6th inning trailing by 6 runs. Where is he going? Who is in charge of this god awful mess? Every game the same old shit.

The team is broken, top to bottom. To me, the only thing that would make the remainder of the season worthwhile would be to bring up players like Estevan Florial, Everson Pereira and Austin Wells to see if they can be counted on to play next year. Let Brito and Vasquez start in place of Cortes and Severino. And, at season's end, hit flush on Boone and Cashman, though I don't think Hal will ever do it.

I'm hoping Boone gets fired with only 1 year left. Cashman is staying, but I think he'll get a strong message to revamp the entire organization.

It’s a badly constructed team. And the quality players all bat right handed and strikeout way to much.
Cashman should be held responsible. But that happening seems unlikely. It is time to change the status qua hopefully Hal will do it after the season.
Terrible results for the investment of money. Honestly I would fire Cashman for Donaldson alone, terrible trade. Washed up player getting 25 million a year!

In my opinion Cashman is a much bigger problem than Boone. He is the one who constructed the roster and saddled the team with big long term contracts for players who are either always hurt or strike out most of the time. Sure Boone is responsible for the team's lack of fundamentals such as bad base running and terrible fielding by the pitchers, but that is not the primary reason the team is so bad.

I would like to see both Cashman and Boone replaced and the team rebuilt to put much more emphasis on team speed, making consistent contact with the batted ball and mastering baseball fundamentals. Alas, I doubt this will happen.

Exactamundo. Boone is a symptom of the Cashman disease. And, Cashman is a symptom of the nepotism disease that is Hal Steinbrenner.

I don't disagree regarding Cashman, but my thought was that he has too many years left to dump him, while Excuses Boone has only one year left.

The Yankees are worth $7B. They paid Ellsbury for years to stay in Oregon, paid to get A-Rod to leave and will be paying Aaron Hicks for the next two years in addition to this one for playing for another team. All for higher dollar amounts than what Cashman is making. Saying that he has too many remaining years to dump is an excuse, not reality.

The reality is that Hal is comfortable with Cashman (after all, he's in the family photos), and they continue to print money, so he doesn't care.
