And he was awesome in the Mariners series. The thing that helped cost them the game (aside from not pulling Cone in the 8th when he was on fumes) was Mattingly hitting a ground rule double in the 6th inning with the bases loaded. It was an astro-turf hop that prevented the third runner from scoring. That runner never scored.
