Yankees 2024 Season

I said weeks ago that this Yankee team was not built for the postseason. No surprise they will fall short yet again. 2009 seems so long ago.

Ohtani looked like he got hurt pretty bad on that steal attempt of second base (he was out).

We'll see. While I hope he's not seriously hurt, I wouldn't mind him sitting out the rest of the series (although he's only 1 for 8 in these two games).

It's always about the hitting this time of the year with this team. Pathetic display of hitting. How do these so-called professional batters (can't call them hitters because they can't hit) not pick up the spin out of a pitcher's hand time and time again?

I didn't expect a great outing from Rodon tonight, and he delivered. Unfortunately.

Showing fight at the end of a game isn't going to cut it. Need to get ahead early and stay ahead.

1 for 8 with RISP. The trend continues with this team.

Soto making Judge look like a Little Leaguer. It's clear who the star is, but unfortunately his last few games as a Yankee is coming up. I guess Judge still thinks it's April.

Nice job by the bullpen keeping the game within range.

This series is over. No way this team is winning 4 of 5. And you know what's coming. Ohtani returns Monday night and hits 2 dingers.

Yanks strength of late has been bases on balls. They usually lead MLB in walks. This post season they are swinging for the fences and runs are not happening. Volpes last at bat. He swung at a ball a foot and a half outside and below his knees. Was he that fooled or did he say to himself, I am swinging at the next pitch?

Hard to win when you don't get good starting pitching, and you don't hit. Rodon fell apart in the third, and the bullpen really stepped up to keep them in the game - 4 2/3 scoreless innings. Soto and Stanton were the only ones who showed up offensively - Chisholm had an outstanding at bat in the ninth, but the rest of the crew was MIA, led by Judge. His playoff struggles make no sense - clearly he can handle pressure playing and producing at a HOF level in NY, but he looks like he doesn't have a clue. Not sure what the solution is there. Clarke Schmidt has a tremendous amount of pressure on him for Monday - hope the offense can wake up and take some of that load off of him. Here's hoping for a 1978 redux.

Maybe trade Judge to SF, and get their top 3 prospects, hey they'll be getting 60 hrs in the regular season but a big dud in the postseason.

I'd give Soto his money, much better hitter.
