Yankees 2024 Season

Have not watched the game as I was umpiring a couple of games timight. But down 7-0, with 2 hits, another starter struggling, hitting into 3 double plays, stranding runners in the first, same old shit, f*cking embarrassing.

Yankees are only 9-12 against lefty starters this year. I think 7 or 8 of those games have been over the past two weeks. Verdugo especially looks lost against lefties.

I'd worry about other teams re-working their rotations to throw lefties at us, but teams don't really do that anymore, in general (not in the regular season, anyway).

Still, in postseason, you're probably going to have to face a lefty starter at some point. Gonna have to find a way to be better at that, although I don't know what the answer is.

At least we're scheduled to see three righties (out of 4 games) in this upcoming Toronto series. Maybe Austin Wells can actually get a start.

Every little bit helps, right now.

Another f*cking, disgusting, non-display of baseball by the entire team and organization. 3 measly hits tonight.

How has this entire organization not been able to right the ship over the last 2 and 1/2 weeks? It's beyond comprehension that this putrid play continues across every facet of the game.

Unfortunately Rodon has become the pitcher he was last year. Of course, idiot and clueless Boone will say how he settled down and gave the team 5 innings. He actually thought he saw good things. WTF is he seeing? Who cares at that point, you're already down 8 runs!!!

Every team seems to be able to get double digit hits, and string together hits, except for the Yankees.

What the hell was that play by Rice?

The bullshit that come out of Boone's mouth is ridiculous. He keeps saying they need to be better. What is he doing to improve things? Nothing. Boone uses the word wonky a lot. Perfect word for his managing.

While I'm on, I might as well comment.

Go back to 2022. Yankee were 36 above 500 going in Fenway for 4 games and won the first 2 to go to 38 over, then they were just terrible and play 13 under to go to 25 above. Then they finally wake up and finish 99-63.

2 years later they won the first at Fenway then drop the next 2 and I'm like nah that's not happening again, but since then they're 2-7.

How does a pitching staff that was kicking ass really suck now? Is it cashman's and Boone's fault that Rodon been ass the last 3 games? They're all vets they need to be their freaking job out there.

I used to be the same way, get really pissed, but it really isn't worth the stress, they're making living the good life with their millions and we still gotta work. So for now on for me now on, if they win then great, and if they lose them oh well, life goes on.

First Met game I was a little pissed, second I didn't even care. Last night I didn't even turn them on, I was wondering the score so I checked the score board, I seen 5-0 in the first and just laughed. Better than getting all pissed.

I am disappointed the minor league system is so poor that we cannot find a replacement for any of our needs. We are stacked with AAAA players just hanging on.

The one player who could help is Caleb Durbin’, but unfortunately he is injured. A player who walks more than he strikes out, is a threat on the bases and can actually put the ball in play.

I expect DJ and Gleyber to both be in the lineup tonight, since they both have good numbers against tonight's starter, Yusei Kikuchi.

Torres is batting .385 in 26 at-bats against him (1 for 4 this year, though), and DJ is hitting.348 in 23 at-bats.

Man do I hate talking heads and their dopey stats and dopier armchair analysis. I am no Yankee fan but Cole was throwing the ball fine IMO, it was moving with good velocity, his control was just a bit off, and some of that off was throwing to the middle of the plate. Add in that the Mets are an offensively very hot team right now so they were not missing or fouling off those hittable pitches. Cole is in an in-season “spring training” phase, he will be more than fine.
