Yankees - 2019

As great as this season has been, this injury bug is debilitating. Watch some bad injury happen in a critical spot in the playoffs that finally is the last straw. Just got a bad feeling.

Interesting tidbit that I heard during last night's game.
Brett Gardner has a higher slugging % than that of both Bryce Harper and Many Machado.

Slugging:
Gardner: 0.498
Harper: 0.492
Machado 0.460

Are Philly and San Diego both regretting those two contracts already? Probably.

WAR (which I find to be a suspect stat - but it's a rough measuring stick of overall productivity):
Gardner: 3.7
Harper: 3.5
Machado: 3.1

That's a lot of dough paid per WAR point by Philly and San Diego

1 homer for the Yankees tonight, but none for the Twins.

Twins - 289 HR
Yankees - 288 HR

Even with the loss tonight, the Yankees were on the verge of winning the AL East, but the Rays just scored two runs in the ninth inning to tie the Dodgers.

game 153.
the daily old school redmen why was he even born award goes to adam o. forget ever getting a 1,2,3 inning. I mistakenly thought adam o was an above average pitcher. recently not even an average pitcher. many of the Scranton slingers look better than him.
cc in danger of not seeing the ball in October.
give us this day our daily Lazarus. this game is was Stanton. welcome back. hit a getty goner/don't get hurt.

game 154.
congrats to yanks for winning the al east. bravo.
dj's 3 run getty goner adds to his mvp cred
the speedster turns into muscle speedster - w, 2b, hr, 3 runs.
another good game for a yankee starter.

The team home run race is back in full force. The Yankees and the Twins each hit 4 home runs last night. So, it now stands:

Twins - 293 HR
Yankees - 292 HR

Twins still with one extra game to play, so they have an advantage (and starting a 4 game set with the Royals last night really gave them an advantage). Yankees just need to keep it close until next Friday, when they play the series in Texas.

I was at the clincher last night. Great time, great crowd. First time I've been in the bleachers since I was a kid. Yanks look ready for the ALDS.
Wore my SJU hat and saw some others with Johnnies gear.

Let's see what develops. No police report filed, so I wonder what this is all about.

Supposedly someone from MLB witnessed the incident so if true that likely makes it pretty difficult to wiggle out of.

He sucks.

game 155.
adam o pitching. gets first batter out, gets second batter out. inning over. game over for adam o.
adam o's streak of no 1,2,3, inning alive.
the Scranton slingers did better than regular yankee pen.

Frank Drebin (a better umpire, BTW) threw Joe West out of the game, in The Naked Gun. Too bad that we can't do that to him in real life.

Despite the loss, the Yankees outhomered the Twins 2-0 on the evening, and have retaken the lead in the home run race.

Yankees - 294 HR
Twins - 293 HR

7 games left for the Yankees, 8 for the Twins.

Yes, but that was never a big thing with me. I know that the home team won all 7 games when they played two years ago, but that's only the 4th time that's ever happened in a best of 7, in 100+ years of this game. Odds are, even with home field, we'd have to win in Houston at some point.

To me, it's more important to finish with a better record then the Dodgers, because if we make the World Series, I want to play with the DH 4 out of 7 games. Even though that would probably help the NL team a bit too, it would hurt the Yankees more to not have the DH, IMO.

Yep, it's like the yanks are playing on cruise control, maybe they don't give a crap about home field?
Toronto will single handedly knock us from getting home field 1-3 vs. them since last week, and they're 30 under.
Maybe they don't give a crap.
Now you look at Houston, now won 6 consecutive, they're playing like they're going for it.

Oh well, if we meet and Houston wins in 7 just like 2 years ago, then the Yankees could just look at themselves in the mirror.

game 156.
Stanton seems to have the rust removed. bravo.
the daily old school redmen savages of the game awards goes to - wade, ford, higgy, clint - what a deep bench.
another fine outing by the yankee starter.
