Yankees - 2019

up 6-0 and blows it, 8-6 and now losing 10-8. Yanks gotta sweep at team that's 42-100
Does Boone even care about home field? Cortes, Cessa, Guerrin, now Loisaga.
Guess it's a good thing Oakland is smoking Houston 9-1 in the 2nd.

Joke if you want Moose, but just remember ago vs. Houston. Home team won every damn game.
You are confused my friend. I’m not joking about anything. I wanted to see your reaction to blowing a 6 run lead.

Yes two years ago the home team won every game. two years ago. A lot is different in two years. You think I enjoy not being the best. I want home field of course. But I also know it’s a marathon not a 100 yd dash.
You are confused my friend, it's no longer a marathon. It's now mid September, it has turned into a 100yrd dash.
You gotta beat Detroit, while Houston is playing Oakland, and possibly get a 2 game lead or atleast a game lead, rather then it be tied after Thursday.
You are no longer my friend. ;)
For a moment, the Yankees held the all time single season team home run lead, by themselves, at 276. Unfortunately, Mitch Garver has just homered for the Twins, and the teams are now tied. It's not really important who wins, but I'm having fun tracking this, as it's gotten close.

I'll try and keep a daily tracker, but I can't promise to always remember (just like I sometimes remembered to post about the continuation of the non-shutout streak, while that was still active), and I know the site is down tomorrow.

FTR, Minnesota has two more games to play then we do, but we also end the year with 3 games in Arlington, TX, which IMO, is the best home run park in the AL (may it R.I.P. after this season), so it's anybody's game.

BTW, the Astros are losing to the A's 17-2, in the top of the fourth inning.
The Astros are losing??? No way!

I was told they never lose :silly:

I love your passion for the Yankees. Too many Mets fans on this site. Enjoyed this thread this season.

That loss was on asshole Boone, lets see at the end of the season if this loss comes back to bite us in the ass.
I really feel we need home field if we play Houston, but oh well.
I'm off.

Minnesota hit 1 home run on Wednesday, and the Yankees 0 (because of the rainout, obviously).

So, entering Thursday, it stands:

Twins - 277 HR
Yankees - 276 HR

Twins have 1 more game remaining on the schedule then the Yankees do, and that number will go to 2 after Thursday's doubleheader.

Houston lost. So did Tampa Bay, and that reduced the magic number for the AL East Championship to 8.
Expect to see some crazy assed lineup in one of these games today. Should be interesting.
I expect maybe 1 or 2 of the guys, at most, to start both games. We'll probably get a mix of regulars and backups, for both games.
Boone should be Manager of the Year.
He may well be. I'm just not a fan of his.

game 146.
the Scranton slingers fail again.
adam o extends his no 1,2,3 inning streak again.
the hr record is fun to follow. should be a last game showdown.
the daily old school redmen 100 yard dash award will never go to kraken.

game 147 - 2 more getty goners - one by post season roster voit, one by the parrot.
mr post season roster added a double in the 3 run 7th and an rbi in 8th.

It now stands:

Yankees - 278 HR
Twins - 277 HR

Minnesota has two games in hand, though.

Unfortunately, one of our homer hitters today (Encarnacion) may have just seen his season come to an end (oblique injury - going back to NY for tests). Shame, as he was really swinging the bat well, since coming off the IL.

Happ (left biceps tendinitis) and possibly Sanchez (left second game with left groin tightness) will be joining Encarnacion on that trip back to New York.

Is there a worse conditioned professional athlete than Gary Sanchez? What was he doing trying to steal a base. He is the slowest guy on the team and pretty much assured of getting hurt!

Nice getting the 2 wins today, but you have to wonder why all the injuries. Agree on Sanchez. If he got a sign to steal, then someone should be fired.

Yankees with 2 more home runs in the nightcap. Minnesota also hit 2 homers, so it currently stands:

Yankees - 280
Twins - 279

Houston lost, so the Yankees are 2 games up for best record. Tampa also lost, so the magic number to clinch the AL East is 5.

Other then the injuries (hopefully nothing too serious), it was a good day all around.

If you don't like negative, no need to read it.

With that said, you can't trust Ottavino, at times he's one of our better pen guys, other times, he's no better then Cessa, Adams and others.
Crappy inning vs. Detroit and gave up the game tying hit, and gave up the lead again tonight.
His stats tonight: 1inn, 1H, 2BBs, and a balk that tied the game.

In other news:
Starters for Yankees-Blue Jays; Friday: Masahiro Tanaka Saturday: Paxton Sunday: TBD - Probably a Bullpen Day (Jordan Montgomery will probably pitch)
