Yankees - 2019

"No excuses, Boston had the same schedule and. scored 7 in the 1st 2 innings."

Haha. I agree. But my Dad always used to say he didn't care what my friends did wrong, only if I did. So in this case, I don't care how it affects the Red Sux. Only the Yankees.

game 84.
dj - june POM gets 2 doubles
the night belongs to gio - 3 real fine fielding plays - getty goner plus single plus walk.
the night belongs to german - first time back - 5 innings, one walk, one run
the green/cortes combo effective again.
the daily old school redmen why was he even born award goes to font & the mets bullpen.
the 9th inning yankee stolen base from game 83 - safe by a hair - was a puzzling move.

As a Yankee fan I hate this series.
Either way it favors the mets.
If the yankees win it's so what, Yankees are supposed to win. If the mets win, it's oh yeah we kicked your ass. To me a split is a met win.
If the mets were good then yeah it would be fun.
But until then i dread it. Glad it's over for this year

Just a quick note.
I'm listening to the post game show, and were talking about the minors. In the Dominican summer league the yankees beat the twins 38-2
That's crazy

game 85.
the unanimous yankee allstars - dj & kraken come thru in heroic style.
chapman gets the vulture award - blown save but the win.
ford, tauchman, Edwin contribute - Cashman - exec of year.
drake wins the daily old school redmen why was he ever born award.
its extra great when the win is over the rays.

game 86.
again late game heroics. judge showing why he is an all star.
what a deep bench - gio, romine, tauchman all contributing.
bullpen comes up big. yanks running away with al east.
Stanek gets the daily old school redmen why was he born award.

Boone manages with his heart, not his head, leaving CC in too long. That and 1 of 12 hitting with RISP doomed the Yanks.

game 87.
fall short in late game heroics.
green becomes the first multi winner of the daily old school redmen why was he even born award.

So tired of this constant playing around with the lineup. They called someone up today so they could rest DJLM and Torres. These guys will have 4 more days off this week to go along with all the days off last week. Ludicrous.

They are both going to the All Star game (along with Sanchez & Tanaka).

And will be playing max 3 innings maybe. Seems overthinking. It won’t matter in the end but I’ll chalk it up to wasted W

Agree. Seems a little silly to rest two of your best hitters in same game against the team trying to catch you in the standings.

game 88.
as previously stated - why rest anyone the day before an all-star game while playing the team directly below you in the standings?
who cares in October if torres got a hit in the july all-star game in the 8th inning?
yanks did get beat by a good pitcher.
but they lost a one run game with a talented/healthy bench.
for the first time ever, the old school redmen why is he even alive award goes to an non pitcher - the yankee sticks w/o gardner managed 3 singles & a walk.

game 89. post all star game.
yanks did very well in all star game. tanaka the win. chapman the save. sticks were 2 for 6.
bravo german - 6 beautiful innings against a below average lineup.
everytime I am about to bury gardner he shines. triple, double, threw runner out.
gardner - probably the fastest yankee that I can remember. best on base paths. covers the most outfield ground.
kraken - no doubt he is healthy from the neck down, now perhaps from the neck up also.
stretching that single into a double never happened just a few years ago.
scoring from first on the double never happened just a few years ago.

As much as I kill Boone, it's hard to believe the Yanks have the best winning percentage in MLB as of this morning. Quite impressive given the injuries.

With the Yankee being so deep and have a talented minor league, Boone can plug in anyone and win.
I give credit to the front office for drafting talented players, making trades and FA's. I give credit to the leadership in the minors, for development, and having these kids ready for when they're called up.
Just like if they sucked, that's on the front office as well. The manager has to play the players on his roster, if they aren't that good then they'll be a bad team, nothing the manager could really do about that.

The manager makes pitching changes, makes the lineup, pinch runs/hits guys etc.

In the end though, it's all on the players on they well or bad they perform.

Well they forgot how to hit now. Take away Edwins 3 rbi double last night, and they only have 1 run in these 2 games.
Hopefully the bats breakout tomorrow and we win the series
