Maybe worried about the arm strength after the surgery and forgetting to field the ball first

How bad was Paxton tonight? Is he hurt? Boone said he looked tired. How could that possibly be? He pitches 3 or 4 innings every 5 days.

game 66.
stop the e-presses. cessa faced 3 batters. got all of them out.
the rest of the yankee staff thought it was pitching batting practice.

So disappointed in the starting pitching on this team. No ability to get beyond the 5th inning. This team is not going anywhere without 2 more starting pitchers. Can't depend on anyone.

The pitching on this team sucks. Wtf did we resign sabathia with his bum knee, and WTF CAN'T WE JUST CUT CESSA??? He is freaking a worthless pos.
5 hits and a bb in 1 freaking inning, are boone and cashman freaking retards???
If i see cessa one more time then I'm done with the Yankees until boone gets fired.
Yeah I might be having a meltdown but all of us can see that cessa worthless but Boone and cash Cashman can't?

But trending terribly the wrong way. I made a prediction on Twitter that the Red Sux will tie the Yanks in the loss column by the London series. This looks like it can turn into a major tailspin.

But 5 under in the last 11.
giving up 74 runs in those 11 games, that's almost 7runs per game.
Lets look at what the starters did in 10 of those 11 because Green started and pitched 2.1 innings so wont count that.
56.2 IP, 63H, 38ERs, and 13HRs

Look at it this way 54IP is 6 complete games. This is about 6runs per game the starters are giving up.

They better start turning things around real quick

game 68.
from the first batter on, cc did not have it.
boone was perhaps, hoping cc would give us innings & the bats would come alive. neither happened.
""The Yankees aren't pressing the panic button on their current 3-8 stretch. Here's what they said after Friday's 10-2 loss: "It's inevitable you're going to hit a patch, and we've got to play better, there's no question about it. But you can't be fazed by the ups and downs that are inevitably part of the season, and we won't be. But definitely a little bit of a rough patch, and we need to play better in every facet right now." (-Aaron Boone) "It's just a long season. We've had a bad 10 days. This team is very capable of doing what it did before that, and getting back to where we were. We'll be fine." (-CC Sabathia) "Everybody knows where we want to go, and what we need to do to get there. It's just a matter of playing a little better baseball." (-Brett Gardner)

Textbook "sportspeak".

Cash trades a minor league pitcher for Encarnacion
Kiss Clint goodbye. He goes for pitcher when Judge and Stanton are back

DJ
Judge
Stanton
Sanchez
Encarnacion
Voit
Didi
Hicks
Gleybar

Bench
Romine
Gio
Gardner

Wow

game 69.
the green/cortes combo works.
cortes pitches 5 scoreless innings, leaves game with no one scoring.
boone listened to Delaware, letting cortes go for more than 2 innings.

Not that I'm sold on Cortes, but he was just what the doctor ordered last night. But Boone continues to drive me nuts. Holder is overused. Send him down to get fixed. Britton should have started the 8th. This Encarnacion trade has to be part of a bigger plan for a starter. Frazier is probably history in any deal.

Andujar may be gone as well. It costs a lot to get a lot.

Maybe they package all of Andujar / Frazier / Florial / Betances along with Happ or Paxton and they somehow get two front line starters. There are zillion permutations to this. Of course, one of the main issues is staying below certain luxury tax thresholds.

It'll be hard to 'thread the needle'.

Trading Then for Now.
trade for 2 starters.
andujar - I don't believe you can trade someone who is on an il.
Which applies to Betances as well.
