Gardner does not get enough respect. I love the guy. His speed in both the outfield and on the base paths is many times a difference maker. Also, the guy personifies hustle!

Gardner's been a great Yankee. 8 our of the past 9 years he's played at least 140 games, a rarity these days.

Always have been a Gardner fan, but he is recognized for his contributions-Earned $72 mil. playing for the Yanks in his career; .260 lifetime batting average.

not tanaka's best outing.[/quote]

Nor Frazier's. He has terrible instincts in the outfield.

MLB career
50 games in LF 98 percent fielding %
23 games in RF 93 percent fielding %

For some reason he's not picking up the ball the same in RF as LF. I have noticed it and the statistics back it up. So long as Judge or Stanton come back he slides back to left with Gardner rotating.

Quite simply, Tanaka has to be better for this team to go anywhere this season. Disappointing this far.

Frazier is about the worst outfielder I've ever seen. Future DH in the majors?

He is diving for balls he has no chance of catching. Playing singles into doubles. It may not always be a charged error, but still not good baseball.

its officially the one third mark. thoughts.
I don't see the rays folding. their pitchers/manager should have them fighting until October.
it would take a collapse of biblical proportions to have the yanks not in post season.
dj, german, sanchez are among the league leaders in various categories.
german is on a cy young pace. could be the wild card playoff starter..

The AL East will have both Wildcards

Crazy to think that Yanks are where they are with arguably their 4 biggest stars (Judge, Severino, Stanton, Gregorius) having played so little to date.

And an all star like Betances

game 55.
Paxton is back with 4 very strong innings.
yanks bullpen back to 2017/2018 form when they were best in baseball.
the media had the padres starting pitcher as hof bound. greeted with 2 quick getty goners.
torres & kraken on pace for 40 roundtrippers.

The season will start to get really interesting when Severino, Betances, Judge, Stanton and Didi return.

Betances's return is the one that actually worries me, believe it or not. I know a lot of people are saying that about Stanton, and I kind of get where they're coming from, but his day-to-day production will be needed at some point.

How many times in the past, have we seen teams with good bullpens, go all in with that at the trade deadline (rather then give up the farm for a starter), only to have the new acquisition mess up the chemistry that was already there?

Yankees bullpen has been lights out in May (once Britton got his issues straightened out). Unless there are other injuries down the line (a possibility, obviously), then I had a really hard time seeing where Betances fits in the pecking order.

He fits in spelling an overused Ottavino and getting Holder further away from anything that means something

The same place he was supposed to be prior to the injury. 7th or 8th splitting those innings with Ottavino and Britton. Less of Holder is a good thing IMHO.

Getting those guys back would be better then any trade they would make. I'm guessing when judge and sstanton come back, maybin will be going, along with brett?
When betances gets back does cortes go? When sev and cc get back, who goes?
Gio has to stay, morales seems past his prime, thinking no room for him.
If anything, this is a good problem to have.

Only way I'm making a trade is for a top starter, we have depth in the bigs and minors to make it happen.
