Yankees - 2019
game45
took 2 of 3 from rays. beat a very good starter.
the 6th inning - top & bottom - had as many pitches, runs, base runners, drama, as most full games.
yanks used/got away with a make shift pitching crew.
please, please don't ever have dj, leading mlb in batting average with men on in scoring position, bunt again with zero outs. or even with one out or even with two outs.
a healthy hicks juices up that lineup.
I have a feeling DJ bunted on his own. Agree, he should not be bunting with his hitting ability.

game 46.
another great comeback. down 6 to 1 in 6th. score 4 in 9th.
torres is on fire. kranken with the big 9th inning blow.
boone left happ in way too long. left cessa in too long.
o's had a bunch of great fielding plays, but 3 crappy throws. yanks defense not so hot.
happ's record against the o's this year is so bad, that the o's sent a limo to yankee hotel to make sure happ showed.
great wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiin for first place yankees.

Nice win, but Haap was horrible against a really bad team. He needs to be better for this team.
was happy they resigned Happ but he has pitched like garbage.
He’s only been bad against Baltimore for some reason

Seems like Yanks have played half their games against O's.

GAME 47.
Finally a laugher. fraser's coming out party - 2 Ballantine blasts.
german - yankee mvp - gave up a 3 run homer - it was man on first, ground ball to german, he throws the probable double play ball into center field. next batter hits a homer. maybe german was shaken up by that error.
kraken is healthy from the neck down & is hot/hot/hot.

game 48
boone play book - starter goes 5, then 4 relievers, one inning each.
torres is still on fire as well as kranken.
5 getty goners for the bombers against the hopeless o's & their below average starter.
bravo gardner - 3 doubles, walk, runner gunned down. a revival? or a last hurrah?

game 50.
happ sails thru good kc lineup, giving up 1 hit in 5 innings.
then a 3 run homer.
voit goes 470 feet deep for another yankee victory.

game 51.
the lower half of the yankees lineup comes through.
the streaking yankees are hot/hot/hot. although playing sub 500 teams.

game 52.
tough, tough loss.
down 7 to 1, tie the game, then lose it on a bad hop.
boone left his best pitcher in, way, way too long.

Last year the Yankees struggled against teams under 500 (Baltimore) and it likely cost them the division.
Chad Green opening again today. I don't get it. It is not like he is pitching well.
The only starters on the 40 man not in the majors are Abreu and Acevedo who are both in AA and struggling. Hale is a starter but they likely feel more comfortable with Green going against the best hitters 1 time before Hale. Options are pretty limited.

What if those 2 were hurt, and a starter on the big boy team got hurt, the Yanks couldn't bring up someone off the 40-man roster?

The Yankees could add someone else to the 40 but would have to release someone or put one of the many 10 day DL players on the 60.

In fairness, he would have put up a zero vs KC if not for Clint Frazier

True. Clint is a defensive liability.

In RF he has been. In LF he wasn't. Guess its the way he sees the ball off the bat.
