Yankees - 2019
game 33.
rain shortened contest.
why risk injuries to million dollar assets.
the game should have been stopped innings earlier. saw too many gripless thrown balls.
german is now #1. pineda showed flashes, that is why I always thought pineda would do well for the yanks.
best part of game - when kraken goes from first to third on single to left center.
maybe hot kraken was hurt last year from the neck down.
game 34.
7 - 0 laughfer turns into nail biter.
mariners twice leave bases loaded.
cc has 248 wins. did not come easy. first 8 batters he gets out.
then with 2 outs in 5th inning, cc was a pitch away from no decision.
yanks infield looks real good on defense.
good to beat an above 500 team.

oh baby. one in the 8th, 3 in the 9th.
thhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhe yankees win.

game 36.
a beating. yanks get only 6 total bases. dj stays hot.
yanks use 3 pitchers that will probably not be on playoff roster

Thoughts on the pine tar lathered hat of Kikuchi?
Everyone keeps saying that all players do it. I watch every single Yankee game and have been for 30 years and I don't often see hats and pitchers going to the hat as much as he did.

Boone knew about the pine tar. Managers and hitters generally do not complain about pin tar because they want opposing pitchers to be able to get a good grip on the ball. Helps avoid getting beaned!

Yeah I heard Boone said he was told in the 8th inning. The 7th was when it started hitting Twitter with images and video.

I get it if the weather was really cold out. Last night wasn't cold.

MLB is the first sport I fell in love with but sometimes it can't get out of its way. It's traditions are unwritten rules need some serious overhauling IMO.

Totally agree about the traditions and unwritten rules needing change.

CC Sabathia tugs on his hat before almost every pitch. At least, he did when he first came to the Yankees. When Pineda got busted for that a few years back, I remember that comparison being brought up (which doesn't mean anything, of course).

What was more annoying to me, though perfectly legal, was that little hitch this guy gave in his windup. I think that through our hitters off. Hideo Nomo used to do that quite often, so I'm guessing that's something they teach in Japan.

It didn't matter, in the end. We lost because Loiasiga was horrible. Usually he waits until about the 4th inning for his outing to go downhill, but last night, he wasted no time at all.

I'm done with the Loaziga experiment. Not a big fan of Cessa either, but I think he's a better option at this point. Still can't understand the Gio Gonzalez signing and then letting him go.

I'm not totally giving up on Johnny L., I just don't think his future is as a starter. He seems to only have a certain number of pitches in him, and with a history of elbow problems, long relief might be in his future.

I'd actually like to see Chance Adams get another opportunity. He didn't pitch a bad game against Boston last year, and his last 3 starts at Scranton have all been good.

game 37.
bravo yankee pitchers.
carrying team on their back. voit then dj, now urshela.
most jap pitchers have that hitch in their delivery.
with all the coaches in the dugout, it seems nearly impossible not to notice going to hat's bill.
never heard it was a "tradition".

game 38.
big, big win over a very good pitcher.
the yank bullpen came up big.
adam gave me heart burn in the 7th, when there was a walk, bunt single, walk with no outs.
followed by a strikeout & a ground ball double play by the slowest guy on rays roster.
whats with gardner - in one week he bats 1st, 7th, 9th, 3rd, sits out?

Was at a play, turned on my phone at intermission and saw Yanks up 4-3, TB up in bottom of 7th bases loaded, no outs, 3-2 count and had to shut phone off for second half of play. Wasn't to confident at that point they would hold the 4-3 lead, play ended got in car and turned on the phone and saw they won 4-3. NICE

game 39 - y y y y y y y y y
why was cortes pitching in this game with first place up for grabs?
why did tmann have the bat leave his shoulders with men on 1st & 3rd & a 2 & 0 count & one out? he swings - dp.
why did not an ump throw out a ray pitcher after an obvious bean ball & 2 teams with bad blood history & cc in the park?
why did not someone burn the tape of the bottom of 6th inning? ugly is as ugly does.
4 man outfield when torres came to bat. wow.
.

So many wrong things happened in this game. Gardner needs to be gone when the full complement of outfielders are back. Andujar needs to be sent down to find his swing. You're absolutely right about the Tauchman at bat. DJ with a tough night in the
field. CC going 5 innings is a problem.

Very tough to hold this team to account when they field so many AAA players.
