Such a broken team right now. Not creating enough space between them and the Red Sux.
More disturbing then that is the fact that Tampa is opening up some distance in the AL East.

That being said, I'm not sure there's anything we can do, but sit back, and hope it turns around. Even if we sign Keuchel tomorrow, he needs to be worked up. Would love to get somebody through a trade, but nobody's going to do that this early in the year.

I'm not sure the Yanks have much to offer up in trades. Going to be interesting when Baumgartner becomes available.

Gary Sanchez placed on the IL. I'm wondering if there is a problem with the Yankees conditioning program. Simply too many injuries. This was a problem last year also. I remember Tanaka straining both hamstrings running from third to home. These are not old men, should not be happening.

I thought most fans would love the fact that Sanchez is out. Don't you all hate him, and want him traded?

I think they have some guys to offer, it's just too early in the season for anyone to throw in the towel yet.

When Betances comes back, I'd actually be open to including one of the key bullpen guys (not Ottavino, but any one of the others) in a potential trade, to lighten the prospect load (obviously, we'd still have to give up one prime prospect, at least - Frazier and Floriel come to mind).

I think the bullpen is suffering from a case of too many cooks in the kitchen, which the return of Betances might actually make worse. You can trade one of those guys, the bullpen remains the team's strong point (and maybe actually gets better), and you get better in all other areas. That would be the ideal situation, but it's still a long ways off.

game 14. bad weather break. 1/3 of game called off.
I cant believe yankee management risked multi million dollar assets to play in one of the worse rain conditions I can remember.
the only thing worse than the weather was the yankee pitching...……………………………………………...
I was waiting for Boone's removing of German to backfire.
I think Boone gets too much blame. It is not his fault the Bullpen has been imploding. He can't overuse these guys or they will burnout or get injured.

With 12 guys already on injured list Yanks just announced they are placing Joe Torre and Joe Girardi on the injured list and are ready to call up Jake Gibbs and Hall Reniff.
Funny thing is, most of us old guys remember those players.
Hell I remember Mantle, Marris, Berra, Skrowren, etc.

Of course but I was mentioning lesser known players that were their contemporaries. Think my favorite pitcher Whitey Ford is oldest living Yankee.
Greg Bird to the IL. https://nypost.com/2019/04/16/greg-bird-with-worrying-foot-injury-in-another-yankees-blow/

Time to move on from Bird.
I was pulling for Bird to get the 1B job, because I felt we would be a better, more well-rounded team, with the lefty bat in there. However, it is clear that he will probably never be healthy (he's probably tried to play through injuries, and that's probably why he's hit poorly the last two years). The problem is, this gives him no value on the trade market, so we're likely to lose him for nothing. Tough, after investing all that time in him.

As for this year, the Yankees might be better off taking their 9-0 forefits, and going home. They can't go more then two days without someone getting hurt (particularly in the lineup). Just looks like it's going to be one of those years, where we will never have anything close to a full squad. We're basically playing a Triple-A team, against other big league squads. If some of the guys don't come back soon, then even our 26 year streak of winning seasons (record-wise) probably comes to an end.

If I'm the other team, I'm intentionally walking Judge any chance I get. Who else in this lineup is going to beat other teams right now? Lemahieu has a great average to this point, but it's been mostly singles. Voit has had some timely hits, but he's under .200 on the year. Judge and Torres are really the only major threats.

The pitching has been lousy to this point, but even if it gets significantly better, I don't know how much of a difference that will make, since I don't see where the runs are coming from on this team.

They may have trailed in one, but pretty close.
