Moose moose moose. So you mind a one game playoff, Where even if you're 40+ the season comes down to one freaking game, going against the other teams ace?
Right now I'd go with Tanaka over Sev last 9 starts or 5 but believe 9, his era is 1.76.

wtf does Boston win the div every year, why not avoid the 1 game bs game.
I don't want any part of it.[/quote]

Of course I want to win the division. But it is what it is. Boston is playing out of their mind and the Yankees have made their bed with their play against inferior comp.

Remember the start they got off to this year? Within 2 weeks they over came that deficit and were in 1st place. It can happen again especially since they still have games vs. Red Sox.

As for the playoff game Seattle and Oakland do not scare anyone. Yankees can even patch work a game with all the pen arms and save Sevy and Tanaka. Hell it pretty much worked out that way last year when Sevy lasted less than an inning.

Baseball is a marathon not a sprint.

As a MEts fan, I just vomited in my mouth. Cicadas come out to play more often than the Mets do.

Boston is on pace for something like 112 wins this year. If that's what they finish with, I can't kill the Yankees for finishing in 2nd. That's a win total that would put Boston among the all-time greats.

I guess Gray’s recent success before yesterday’s game was an aberration. Too bad. I was hoping he may have turned the corner. Looks like he did, but right into the path of an oncoming truck! Back to zero faith in this guy.

With 56 games left (53 for Sox), Yanks really need to take 3 out 4 this weekend. Really unfortunate they won't have Judge & Sanchez bats for this one. Need a big series from Stanton & Torres.

Lets see what happens in these 4 games, the Yanks need to set a statement here and take 3 of 4 @ Fenway.
That would shut giddy pos fans the hell up, that they're about to take control of the AL east.
It starts tonight with CC vs. Brian Johnson. I like the matchup in that one.
Gotta win tonights game, or gotta win the last 3 at Fenway, that would be reallyhard to do.

I wish he'd in the pen, I have seen enough of him, bring up shef.
Gonna tell me he isn't ready? Maybe he isn't but he'll get big league experience, and can he do any worse then Gray?

Every Yankee fan should be terrified of having to play a one-game playoff against James Paxton and the Mariners.

That the same guy who has a 7.2 ERA this year against the Yankees?
Actually his only career start against Yankees.
Remember he might also have to pitch to get them TO that game. Distinct possibility.

I'm talking about the guy who threw seven shutout innings against Houston two starts ago. Your talking about the Yankees team that was on an absolute tear once Torres got called up. That hasn't been the case lately. Anything can happen in a one game playoff. Yankee fans gave every right to be angry because they'll win 100+ games yet still have to play 163.

Playoffs have the best teams
Yankees are 32-19 vs teams over .500, best record in MLB

What good is being angry about it, thems the rules. Just unfortunate to have second best record in baseball and be in second place because the team with the best record happens to be in your division.

We score three runs in the top of the first and it starts to rain in the bottom of the first after a completely sunny day in Boston!

We would have been better off if it kept raining. Horrible outing for Holder in a game we really needed..

Gives up 7 runs without retiring a batter. Boone waits 6 batters in to finally get someone up in the bullpen. He should have left Holder in this way the game would have continued into forever and nobody would win this years WS. For all the Girardi haters Boone at least tonight is totally clueless. David Cone even said you can't leave your first reliever in that long to give up that many runs.

Agree. Not only did he leave Holder in too long, he pulled CC too early unless he was hurt by that comebacker that hit him (I was switching back and forth with Overseas Elite game so I could have missed that). CC was struggling but still battling and had only thrown 77 pitches.

Boone is an idiot.
Yesterday Gray gives up 5 in the 2nd, why he lets him pitch the 3rd? No idea. He gets the first 2 hitters, then a HR, they showed the pen, and still no one warming up, then finally after a single, he has someone warming up.
Is he that clueless?
First 2 hitters in the 5th get doubles. 11-5

Times to turn this crap off. Can we get the next 3?

Football sounds good at this point

77 pitches in 3 innings is way too many along with 4 walks.......he simply did not have it tonight.......he had to come out.

CC and the rest of the pitchers, and Boone and Rothschild, were all horrible tonight. Defensive fundamentals on this team are approaching Little League levels.
