Yankees - 2018
I'm beyond pissed, the one game you thought they had, with the closer coming in to seal the deal.
Blows it, you can't make this crap up.
I'm tuning this game off, you know they're losing this game, and screw the next 26 games.

I'll see ya in October, peace.

Call me a crappy fan, I guess I am.
I just don't understand how you go from a 41-13 in a 54 game period, to a 18-20 team in the next 38 games.
Injuries? Yeah I understand Judge but Sanchez is a 188 hitter with only 14HRs.
There's no guarantees that he'll be any better when he returns
Agree. Last night I had to go to bed and went to sleep thinking that at least they avoided a four game sweep. Woke up this morning to see that final score and UGHHH!!! This team is reeling right now. I don’t care how many games over .500 they are. They need to get their heads back on straight. And soon!

When I woke up this morning I was worried about you. But you're taking it better than I expected :)

Yea it sucks the team looks lifeless and the Red Sox are taking them out back and smacking them around. They are playing without two very important pieces. I know most critical Yankee fans hate Sanchez but let's be real. The real Romine has reappeared as he can't play full time.

Another overlooked factor is Torreyes. Don't discount the intangible factor and what impact that has on a locker room.

Chance pitched OK. Would have liked to see Yankees start a reliever for an inning ala Tampa Bay to calm his nerves a bit. But alas.

They key now is to not look over the shoulder and see the WC lead shrinking. Get back on track and get to best of five. Anything can happen.
Moose, if Sanchez comes back as that 188 hitter, no we will not miss Sanchez, if he comes back and he's the Sanchez of the last 2 years, then yes, he'll be a welcome addition.
Will he be hustling too? It's another question.

Chance was ok, but wtf are the GD BATS? Shut down by Porcello, atleast he won the mvp, but Nathan freaking Eovaldi??? Freaking kidding me? He's a #3 or #4 pitcher on any staff and yanks couldn't hit him? That's a big WTF.
I want to see how the Yanks handle what happened at Fenway. Are they fragile and struggle, or they put this series to the side and bounce back from this? Normally I'd say sweep the White Sox, but I'll say just take 2 of 3.
If they struggle vs. the White Sox, it could get bad.

We might get into the WC, with Seattle losing 5 straight (TY Seattle), but Oakland won 5 straight and only 3.5 behind the Yanks, so even if we get in, we might be going to Oakland.

Moose, do you see this Boston team faltering? I don't.
Maybe if Yanks do what boston did, win something like 20-in 25 games, they might get it down to 5. I just don't see Boston going on long losing streaks.
2 of 3 at Chicago
3 of 4 vs. Texas
beat the mets
2-3 vs TB
sweep 3 vs Toronto 11-3
sweep 2 @ Miami 13-3
Praying we take 3 0f 4 @ Balt 16-4 (knowing from the past we'll split that 4 game series)
Then 7 games vs chicago and Det at the stadium take 5 of 7? 21-6

Can we go 21-6 before the big west coast trip to Oak and Sea

They gotta find themselves first.
Sanchez might be hitting 188 but he's still someone that pitchers needs to think twice when they pitch too. A mistake to him is much different than a mistake to Romine or Higgy. His presence and Judge drops Andujar and Torres and all of a sudden the lineup is dangerous and a threat 1-9 again.

Something is seriously awry. Where are the guys in the locker room to nip this in the butt.

Exactly. His 14 home runs, and 41 RBI were basically accumulated by June 24 (which is the day he initially got hurt). You know how many AL catchers had those numbers at that point in the year? That would be zero. So basically, Romine's been the starter ever since late June. Does a good job with the staff, but he's a singles hitter, who's average goes down the more you play him. Throw in the fact that Judge is basically being replaced by a combination of Neil Walker and Shane Robinson, and you can see why the offense has fallen on hard times. Also, Gleyber Torres does not appear to be 100% healed, and I have my suspicions that he is only playing because the other two guys are out.

Also, Stanton has done a great job getting his average up these last two months, but he's hitting mostly singles (hard singles, to be sure) That was great when the lineup was at full (or near full) strength, but right now, we really need him to put the ball in the seats a little more often.

its me. i am the one to blame. i see the yanks twice in tampa & they lose both.
i am pushing to have sevy & birdie's numbers retired & they fall off the cliff.
its just hard to rip a team, with basically the 2nd best record in baseball.
no one is going to have a better regular season record than boston.
all year its been home runs & the bullpen.
2 home run hitters go down & its a 500 team.

DO NOT FOLLOW Yankees or baseball but they have LInn pitching not impressed he mounts up a lot of pitches early. Does not seem to overpower anyone and most hitters getting a piece of his pitches. I wonder how the Yankees got so many wins they look ordinary

Wanna take that back?

19 sox out in a row. 7 1/3 innings. 2 hits. one walk. serving crow to a poster.
home runs are back.
if it was not for bad luck, birdie would have no luck at all.
Robbed of a 3 run homer on a great catch. hits one deep in the warning track in the 8th.

Yes, he's really terrible. Only 11 and 2/3 scoreless innings since joining the team. That's not enough!

Regarding Linn, if you just look at his first inning, you are absolutely correct he threw 27 pitches in that inning. But then he settled down to pitch well, which was so needed after that lost weekend in Boston.

yes I SEE i jumped the gun Hope they can put some wins together although catching Boston seems improbable but WILD CARD WOULS BE NICE

Terrible that Britton couldn't close it out in the 10th, but one good thing that came out of it was Sonny Gray. Three brilliant innings out of the pen, to get the win.

Plus, Seattle lost, and Oakland is losing, so hopefully we can gain a game on both teams.

Probably a pipe dream but Kimbrel blows it and then they come back. They might just be that team of destiny. I just hope they don't surpass the 98 Yankee win total

see, the yankees can sweep the sox. and they did it in grand style (stanton).
hopefully sevy is back on track.

Yanks play next 24 in a row against teams with current records at .500 or under. Need to make hay here and get some separation from Oakland & Seattle because September is tougher part of remaining schedule.

We should feast on these teams. No excuses. People should all be getting healthy. Maybe a long winning streak could reboot the entire team.

getty goners are back in the bronx.
chapman continues to make my heart flutter.
espken - i have not seen your posts in a long, long time.
but what the heck does "boards dont hit back " mean in yankee lingo?
is it the picture above?
