And one final thought on this matter. Lance Thomas of the Knicks underwent the same procedure as Keita on the same day. He was back practicing less than a month later and he was activated for 8 games before our game with SH. He played over 19 minute his first game back and he plays PF/SF where quickness and lateral movement is needed much more. He is 9 years older than Keita and has much more more wear and tear with hundreds of more games under his belt. They were given the same timetable for a return.
There is more that goes into recovery than most realize. You have to show up for treatment--which is a MAJOR problem for some athletes. You have to rest and rehab the injury as prescribed by your trainer and you have to avoid doing things you shouldn't.
We can talk about "everyone is different" but I don't buy that bs. Sorry. The only thing that would keep a player out after the 4 week period is his or her own comments about the discomfort they feel. That's it.
Again, this kid plays CENTER. We needed him for 5 minutes. He's not asked to play point and shake and bake, plant repeatedly, and move laterally. He is asked to jog up and down the court in straight line and body up for a few minutes at a reduced pace of play so Clark, Figueroa, and Heron don't accumulate fouls and can't play aggressively.
