Welcome back LJ Figueroa
CMA needs to recruit him first!
If a guy doesn't want to be recruited, then there's not much MA can do.

Does he NOT want to be recruited?

What are the chances MA hasn't already re-recruited him?

It would be great to have LJ back next year but I am more concerned about picking up a point guard. Not a knock because I know there are a lot of Mussini lovers out there, but it will be tough to watch another season with a point guard of similar talent.

Hope he returns, but that's all up to him. Not gonna worry who he works out with, dont care. If he leaves then so be it.

If LJ leaves it will be hard to figure. Seems self-evident that if he stays he and Heron are the leaders of the team and LJ's most likely, in my view to be the star. He will score a lot, he's a stat stuffer too and he makes incredible heads up plays like the one the ref screwed up in the first SH game, so probably our best bet to make all-BE team. So with that and a coach and coaching staff that's knowledgeable and professional and can help LJ become more fundamentally complete as a player, and having to sit out if he transfers, it seems like a no brainer from here. Of course who knows what makes people decide things. I hope LJ is back; I really enjoy watching him play!

Yup, REB, he’s my favorite ‘current’ player.
Defies logic that he’ll leave but as Yogi noted “it’s tough to make predictions, especially about the future.”
We shall see.

Don’t get upset Old School, but I detect some subtle Zen-Buddhist sentiment in your post above.
I like it.
Lol.

Nah, but if he wants to go, then there's very little that anyone do about it, so why stress?
Again, I liked his hustle last year so I'd like for him to stay, but in the the end it doesn't really matter what I or the rest of us want, he'll do as he wants.
We'll continue to live our everyday lives, sorry for not caring anymore if these kids leave or not.
It just happens way to much.

Edit:
Hopefully CMA changes wanting to leave sju to staying at SJU

Any update on TJ? Is there a cutoff date for transfers?

No and as far as the NCAA is concerned, no. Only cutoff date is the date the school you pick will no longer allow new students to enroll for a semester). Heck, Wilson enrolled in uconn in late August or earlier September.

Given no 'real' cutoff date, I wonder if LJ 'waiting' to see what PGs and/or other recruits CMA reels in, this late in the process?
Whether if he stayed, it'd be real ugly or perhaps 'competitive' next year.
Just noodling.
Of course, I lean heavy on 'competitive'.
Lol

As I recall LJ had several visits scheduled. The only one I am aware he has taken so far is W. Kentucky unless I missed others. Would think he is likely to take a few more before making any decision.

That makes sense, but it also seems to me that all the pieces of the decision go into the mixer, including sitting out 1 year, the risk of being recruited over by another program, how 'competitive' SJU will be next year, etc., one would think all of it and more will be integral to his decision.

St. John’s LJ Figueroa and Texas Tech’s Brandon’s Francis among those invited by the Dominican Republican’s national basketball team, as the program prepares for its trip to the FIBA World Cup in China this fall. #SJUBB
Figgy a Dominican?
He has extensive international experience, playing with the Dominican Republic U18 team during the 2016 FIBA Americas, where he averaged 14.6 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 22 minutes

St. John's coach Mike Anderson says LJ Figueroa hasn't been in team workouts of late. But didn't seem overly concerned. There has been dialogue and he's getting ready for finals. #sjubb
