As expected;

Julian Champagnie made the expected official on Thursday afternoon: He’s going to test the NBA Draft waters.The St. John’s sophomore will go through the evaluation process, along with his twin brother Justin, who made his own announcement on Tuesday.

Champagnie isn’t on any mock draft lists, but an NBA scout told The Post he believes Champagnie would likely be a second-round selection if he kept his name in the draft.

Good for Julian to test the waters.  Hopefully, he comes back and try to parlay his stock into a first rounder.  These days kids will settle if they're told by a team or two they'll be a second rounder.  Unfortunately, there are many times those same kids end up being undrafted.

Good for Julian. Should be a helpful to his development to hear what they have to say. Is there still a 1 time withdrawal from the draft limit like in years past? Also, reading the tone of Julian's IG post, he already seems set on coming back.

Wish him well!!! Gotta think the staff opened a lot of eyes w the development on Julian into the player he is today.

With Julian testing the NBA Draft what are the chances we will lose him also?

90% it's to get pro feedback on what he needs to develop and he'll be back.  His statement almost says that.  Not only is he not ready, you have to assume there is going to be a larger-than-usual number of players declaring.  I don't think his aspiration is to be a mid- to low-second round pick, with another year he may play himself into first round consideration.

Whenever they test the process, there is always a chance you could lose them, I've seen guys that needed to come back end up staying.

With that said, Zach just posted a tweet that was very encouraging, said unless Julian felt he would be taken in the top 30 in the draft, then he would return.  So, considering on the top draft sites Julian isn't even listed in their top 60, on ESPN's top 100 board he isn't listed at all, so it seems like at this moment it's a very great chance he returns for his junior year.

I wouldn't be 100% sure about that from what I was told by someone I trust.  Gun to head I think Julian comes back but it is not a given by any stretch.

This is a very nice thing. Sending guys to the NBA is a huge selling point for recruits. Come on now
