In all my years of playing and watching sports, I don't ever remember seeing that happen. Guess there's a first time for everything.
It happened last night in the Toledo football game. QB came out due to injury. While the game was still going, he was shown on the sideline on crutches and an ice pack wrapped around his knee. By the end of the game, the crutches and ice pack were gone and he was walking around normally.
Ice pack is one thing, but a boot?? Like I said, anything possible, but paint me skeptical. Can't remember the last time "where there's smoke, there's fire" did NOT apply to our program.
He (the QB) was also on crutches. That would probably be worse than a walking boot. But, agree with the "luck" of our program in recent decades. But, we have a professional staff in charge now. We need to get past our PTSD associated with previous regimes. Does that mean nothing bad will ever happen? Of course not. But, it does mean that not every situation is going to end up with the worst possible outcome regardless of reason.
Takes years and lots of therapy, not to mention drugs and/or alcohol, to get past what we've had to endure under the last 6 regimes. I've done a good job with the drugs and alcohol, just need some more time and some therapy, then I should be fine.
