St John’s star Julian Champagnie has added a workout with the Pacers for July 7, per source.

Julian Champagnie also works out for Bulls on June 29 and Nets on July 1. #sjubb

Hopefully that July 7th workout gets canceled :)

Well if the 3 point shooting drill meant much Max Hooper would be in the basketball HOF. /media/kunena/emoticons/wink.png/media/kunena/emoticons/smile.png

Everyday that goes by the less confident I am that he is coming back.

We could really do something special next year but he MUST return to accomplish that.

I will try to watch some of the scrimmage today while I am working.

If I were the architect of a super-team I would be seeking out kids like this. Luckily for us, I think GMs are more likely to seek out NBA vets on the cheap to fill out rosters rather than giving out second round guarantees and developing guys like Julian. I think I'll still be worried until the deadline passes, though.

Starting for the team in white. Missed a 3 and had a real nice finish off a curl. Matched up against Houser.  Only 7 minutes into the game.

Just hit a couple of free throws and a smooth corner three. Certainly looks like he fits with the guys he's on the court with today.

I agree Duke. I don’t think he’s coming back. He has 7pts in this game now. He just hit a corner 3. I just hope that CMA and staff have back up plan and have a couple of other quality kids targeted because we are going to need two more guys.

These teams put a lot of stock in the measurables.  Campy doesnt strike me as a player whos got a great vertical, is super quick etc.

He might not stand out in that part of this combine and that will hurt him and help us :)

I'm pretty pissed if I'm Garza and get a DNP. (Unless he's gotten a guarantee somewhere.)
I would assume Garza’s a top-15 pick at the very least so why even risk a possible injury this close to the draft. Or, lol, I’m totally wrong about that. Kinda surprising, I would think a guy his size who can score would be a higher pick.

Some guys are outstanding college players, but lack lateral quickness, agility and ability to get off their shot v pressure to play at next level. One sample, but Julian’s learning curve seems evident IMO, especially when slotted to be a guard in the NBA. Wishing him well in the remaining process, but just don’t see him turning heads in this difficult journey at this point.

But the final box score has him finishing with 9 points on 2 for 6 shooting (1 of 3 on three-pointers), with 2 rebounds and no assists. Didn't see the game, but I wouldn't call those stats outstanding. (Maybe I'm just trying to convince myself that he'll be back.)

Julian Champagnie said he's been in touch with the St. John's coaching staff throughout the proccess, in particular head coach Mike Anderson.

At the NBA Draft Combine, Julian Champagnie said his focus right now is chasing his dream of the NBA. Hasn't made any decisions
