Vince starting was pure motivation for Zuby. It didn’t work. I think Vince is clearly a second unit guy…maybe around the third TV timeout each half. He has absolutely no defensive presence in the lane whatsoever. He’s not bad away from the basket. One thing that intrigues me about Vince is as a screen setter with his long legs. Clingan was allows to set screens all year with his feet spread and it bought his teammates so much space.I think the starting lineup was simply Pitino changing things up to see how different combinations work together. Except perhaps for Zuby, where it was also probably a motivational tool. For Kadary and RJ, I think it was probably seeing how the group that started played together plus rewarding Dunlap for a great game against Q and giving some extra burn to Scott who played like 1 minute that game because he wasn't feeling well.
I’m fine with Smith averaging 4 turnovers. A 5 turning the ball over is tough to stomach.Smith and Zuby combined for NINE turnovers. Not to good.
That’s what she said.Zuby continues to demonstrate he can’t finish around the rim.
IDTS. AG was a warrior and I think easily one of the top 30 or 40 players to ever play for us. But, that's just MHO.That is a stretch
He's not in Joel's league.I thought Zion - sorry I mean Zuby - was an AA candidate and lottery pick after the Rutgers game.
What gives?
For as much time as we allegedly spend on defense at practice there is a shit ton of pmiscommunication on switches.]]p]ppppp
Op]I hope we don't start tightening up.
He finally scored on that free throw. Hopefully it breaks the seal.Glover is extremely raw but you can’t teach that quick first step. Hope he sticks it out here
New Mexico is big so we are going to need solid play from our bigsSt. John’s Zuby Ejiofor hopes high-energy-second half can be ‘stepping stone’ after benching
Maybe Zuby Ejiofor has begun to find his game.nypost.com
Sounds like Pitino has more faith in this team than many posters. Seems like he himself was toying with Wagner. Hard to criticize Kadary if your head coach is basically telling you this game is for everyone else. He turned the switch on and immediately gave us a 20 point victory. Dude is a big time player.
Why do we have the big men switching at the top of the key? Wouldn’t it make more sense for him to stay down low. And not have to rush back to cover opposing bigs .- Luis Wilcher smith are all great but we’ll be as good and go as far as Kadary takes us
Passive last few games but let’s see if he turns it up Sunday
- Watching from the stands, every time zuby screws up, misses a basket, drops a pass he immediately looks over to the bench. In the 2nd half he stopped and just played ball
- Vince can really defend anyone especially on a switch. Not only does he stay in front of the man, he actually pressured him. Nice to see
- Prey will be a guy come January who wins us some games. He may not drop 15 but he does a lot of little things like box out, tipping balls, constantly moving that win
I noticed that as well... which ever "big" of ours was in... should have been able to handle his own re: Post D.... after i saw it for the 3rd time... even when it wasn't their 6'9 guy who received it in the post.... I felt Rick was prepping for his D against Nelly on NM for Sunday... getting the off-defenders used to doubling. What did everyone think of the automatic big - to - big double in the post we were doing last night defensively? Might shed more light on ricks confidence re interior defense.
Looie would throw you out of the gym for saying that. He favored guards who would protect the ball.and not commit turnovers over flashier types.I’m fine with Smith averaging 4 turnovers. A 5 turning the ball over is tough to stomach.
