Very different approach then what we saw under coach Lavin. The high flyers are gone, as is the one on one play, replaced by players that work together, and play without a sense of entitlement, but with a sense of urgency.
Fundamentals like blocking out will be crucial, as we are not going to be able to out jump high level division one players. We couldn't even out jump Wagner. I think 5 different Johnnies hit 3s. That may be a first. Only 1 dunk that I can recall, a wide open one by Sima. Obekpa may have been a better athlete, but Sima has the better attitude, higher B ball IQ, and has a better all around game. This season is about Coach getting comfortable on the sidelines, and the young players learning and developing. I would like to see some nice wins for Johnson and Mvouika's sake, as they are the seniors and trusted in Coach Mullin. Jones finally throwing that wide body around. Yes, it was just Wagner, but every win matters, as it builds confidence for the team and the staff.
