Mussini was phenomenal, completely different player than the Sonoma game. Made a few huge shots and showed a basketball IQ that we haven't seen around these parts for quite some time. Might be overwhelmed at the point this year, but much like Phil Greene his freshman year, the experience running the point will prove to be very valuable down the road.
Durand and M'Vouika were both steady presences, I thought M'Vouika was going to be more wild in his shot selection, but he actually had a few looks where he should have pulled the trigger and didn't.
Christian is showing more agressiveness which is nice but he's just not a rebounder and never will be. Can be a weapon when he gets the ball on the elbow though.
Sima is going to be a first round pick. Great defensive maturity so far and he has post moves that we haven't seen since Burrell. Also made a jump shot on the baseline.
Williams has a nice stroke and will be a weapon for us. He clearly is a little rusty out there but having a guy at his size who can stretch a defense will be key for us.
Crowd showed up for the most part which was nice to see, although it was hot as ever in the Carn as expected. Fun night.
Anyone know why one side of the stands looked packed and the teams side with some empty seats?
Because a lot of the big-time donors who have the chair back seats choose not to attend the early season non-conference games.
It's really no different than the seats behind home plate at Citifield that did not become densely populated until long after the Mets had become a great team to watch this past season.
It's bad enough that the limited number of seat back chairs come with a hefty price tag in terms of donations to the school, but to see them largely empty while sitting in uncomfortable bleacher seats is frustrating.
