Jenkins is everything else you say he is but he has shot under 25% 3fg in 3 of his 4 years in school. He is not adequate enough to be taking 20% of this teams 3s and more than 4 per game. But if Rick wants him to do it so be it. Just win baby.
Stop

This Dunlap thing is genuinely one of the best stories we’ve had here in awhile.

This was a kid I had already pretty much written off for this season… thought he wouldn’t play in Big East play….

And it wasn’t even like a thing where he gradually gained playing time… this was like a true overnight success story where all the sudden this kid is a pivotal part of the rotation?

It makes me still have hope that even Sim gets going by March… man this team could go places

From Zach. This sooo reminds me of Lavins first team. Confidence comes from the coach and staff down to Daniss and Joel then everyone feeds off that. The way our defense is improving we will be inflicting our will on a lot of teams if we keep progressing

I don't know if we win or lose this game without Daniss but it's impossible to deny that he's a big plus for this team, especially since Dingle isn't nearly the scorer or shot creator we thought he would be. Earlier in the season Daniss was taking ridiculous shots because nobody else was really capable of creating offense for themselves. Since Luis has returned, there's finally another player on the floor that can make something happen on his own. The offense was noticeably different with Luis on the bench today when Jenkins had shoulder more of the offense. Now, both Jenkins and Luis still take bad shots from time to time but it's way less for Jenkins now than it was earlier this season.

As for Dunlap, obviously his offense changes the dynamic of how teams have to defend us, but I'm shocked at how good his defense has been the past 2 games. I thought for sure he'd get targeting nonstop while in the game and get abused but he's actually held his own on that end. He's moving his feet well and not fouling. I don't expect him to be a great defender but he's not nearly the liability I thought he'd be on that end in his Freshman season.

Sim is so pumped when Brady hits shots and is always engaged on the bench regardless. Awesome to see. Hope he sticks around.

Everybody contributed in this one even the ones in limited minutes. Sim had that pretty lob to Zuby for the oop. Conway played smart basketball at a time when they team needed it. Zuby made the most of his 5 mins.

Fortunate that Nova was cold from 3 today and might not be that lucky in other games this season but also think our guys did a great job contesting and making them uncomfortable on a lot of them.

We win as a team we lose as a team. It’s that simple

The Jenkins haters might just need to buckle up and accept how the rest of the season is gonna go

Yes I want the shot selection to be perfect, but even if it’s not we have to be real here,

Jenkins is a huge part of this team and will be until (hopefully) April :)… he’s not going anywhere

And I’m personally happy he’s on our team. Marillac keeps citing his irrational confidence like it’s a terrible thing. But idk, I want a guard who approaches every game with a confidence/belief that he can dominate the opponent.

I’ve seen wayyyyyyy too many March madness games get decided by who has the guards with more moxie… to be upset that we have a daniss jenkins.

So just sit back, relax, and partake in the #DanissJenkinsDrinkingGame which is… take a shot every time he gets to the free throw line. The point of this drinking game to ensure everyone is able to drive home sober and safe 👍🏼

Jenkins I totally get the shot selection thing but also I noticed when he drained 1 the whole bench up cheering. Obviously aside from the coach he has the respect of his players. My dad taught me a long time ago in life and in sports it doesn’t matter if they like you or don’t like you but they gotta respect you because in sports if they don’t respect you then you’ve lost the team.

When Jenkins first started playing this summer that first week Panther was at a practice and texted or called me and said “ Mike we are in good hands “. For me that’s all I need to here

We roll With Jenkins and let the other guys feed off his boundless energy and effort ( because while not in a stat sheet that sets a tone for the other players )

Most important let’s go out and kick Providence ass

This is going to be the best season we have had in a long long time so let’s just all enjoy the ride. We need to realize we have the best coach in the game and he will just keep making these guys better and better. I myself jumped to conclusions after the Boston college loss and said no way this will be a tourney team and happily admit I was wrong. We are all used to losing and preparing for the worst and have to remember those times are in the past now that Pitino is here. Jenkins has had three great games in a row, I don’t think we win the Hofstra game without his performance. Kid plays with confidence is not afraid of the moment and has greatly improved on the turnovers that plagued him earlier in the year. The step back three people are questioning yesterday he got the ball from Soriano with 4 seconds left on the shot clock out deep what else was he supposed to do there he took that shot with 1 second left on the clock. He is not taking as many bad shots as he was earlier he is driving a lot more and last 3 games put up around 20 a game with tons of assists and hardly any turnovers. Now let’s take care of business at MSG and beat Providence!

Looks like we may come up a little shy on the 70 page thing. We led throughout this game. There wasn’t as much to complain about during the game as has happened in the past so I guess that lessened my guess. Still great to see the excitement written about the team in a popular game winning thread!!!

Can’t wait for providence game. Let’s go!!
