Yes sju88 was thinking about the old rule in college where ball had to hit the player in bounds within 5 seconds to avoid a violation.I don't remember that ever being the rule (5 seconds till it touched a player in bounds)

+100The reality for those who are fixated on Jenkins is this .
Pitino has given him the keys to the Season . There is nothing that anyone on the Site can do to alter that .
Jenkins has received the Pitino Blessing that few earn in RP ‘s career . Get used to it .
If you look at the final Box Score , Jenkins has a lot of the boxes filled with good numbers .
Harping on his 3 point shooting or the shots he takes really doesn’t matter to Pitino , so why does it matter to the few on here who want to run it again and again like a broken record .
Does it not matter that there was 1 second left on the shot clock for this 3?We won’t beat many good teams with him taking step-back 3’s when he’s 1-4 on the night.
Shot selection is some of the most fair criticism one can have on a fan site since it’s so easily correctable.
Try looking any (old rules) of this up and my hair was falling out. Good luck with that. Thanks for the correction. It has to be right because it is exactly how the Refs called it.Yes sju88 was thinking about the old rule in college where ball had to hit the player in bounds within 5 seconds to avoid a violation.
Jenkins has size, better shooting, better game management and now less turnovers. Everybody loved what Posh brought to the table, but Jenkins is a better player and is becoming one of the very best point guards in the Big East!Jenkins is one of the best players on the tram. Posh is riding the pine in crunch for his crappy team. This debate is over. Accept jenkins is a much better pg then posh and move on. Its apparant to everyone but you.
Didn't they win the game today going away? When was the last time a ball hog averaged 6 assists a game for us? I’ll wait.
Didn't they win the game today going away?
I got off to such a hot start I put the GM duties on cruise control. To be honest I knew once bball season started it would be tough, but no excuses there and probably deserve the boot! Certainly would in real lifeUrgo hit the jackpot getting Khalid Moore to come in for his 5th year from Ga Tech, he complimented Neptune's top transfer Quisenberry well.
PS if you got time on your hands you should come back to Redmen.com FF. I don't think Amase's heart was in it. Am I right Patrick? Or was it strategic starting Burrow and Andrews all year while on the IR?
Not an expert on NBA and College rules per se but have been officiating high school and club basketball for too many years and it's always been this way. I would be surprised if there has been a recent change to ncaa throw in rules regarding this.Until someone touches the ball the count continues. Not when ball is released. Maybe I am not explaining correctly? Please explain what I’m missing?
Edit: Thanks didn’t realize they changed rule.
Totally Agree. Here is another observation. Have you noticed these players do not argue on every foul call and get right back mentally into the game! How many times last year's players get burned on the fast break because they were crying to the Refs? Also, so great to have a head coach calling the plays in the huddle and having command of his team!40 minutes of hell vs 40 minutes of coaching . Cuerbelo eating popcorn vs Soriano going to the nba probably first rounder . Sitting on scorers table at time out vs still coaching with less then 40 seconds left .
Well we are still 10 pages short of posts if we wish to get to 70, if there is anyone who can do it I have the utmost faith in you.I know espken put the game replay on the thread but I think I just might watch the replay at midnight and start posting on this thread again during the game
Just wait till I take my Ambien in the second half. I’ll get us there with some whacky postsWell we are still 10 pages short of posts if we wish to get to 70, if there is anyone who can do it I have the utmost faith in you.
NoWe absolutely win without him today Soriano was unstoppable and everyone looked like the PG Jason Williams feeding him the ball today.
You don’t think we could come up with with 17 pts from his 17 shots and 3 turnovers?
Coach's sons almost always seem to have an immense amount of court smarts, for obvious reasons.can’t stress how well Brady moves without the ball, he truly puts himself in a position to succeed, crazy smart bball IQ. Kid is far ahead from where I thought he would be at this point. And at 6 8 with that crazy quick release he is going to get off many a great shots. The Zuby block has to be shown over and over on the highlight reels on sports net, a block for the ages. Looking for him to slowly improve this season. Jenkins with another very good game. Perfect no, but no player is perfect and he was able to do something that many a player we thought were very good point guards were unable to do, to beat nova on their home court.and I still believe Dingle will come around and be an asset to this team, he didn’t forget how to ball after playing 3 seasons in Division 1, let’s try to be a little more patient.
Our overall record is where many of us thought it would be a few months ago, but certainly not our big east record at 3-1. We always start out like crap, this start is so refreshing, great win and on to Providence who is down a key player.
A great win on National TV, unfortunately for me not international.
The "Big D"?Not remotely sure why your Jenkins rant was in answer to a post that had nothing to do with him but, okay. Glad you enjoyed the win… BTW, 2nd game in a row Jenkins came up very big down the stretch. He is not the Big O but he is a pretty damn good player.
HappyBirthday Coach! I grew up with Brian Mahoney. He lived on the block next to me in Rockville Centre. I went to parties in his basement! LOLView attachment 1775
Coach celebrated his 99th birthday by watching the team play today. What a great birthday present he received. Such a lucky man to be in the company of two such dear friends. The man still bleeds SJU red.
Thankfully it's only a few outliers. Most of us are on cloud nineWe just beat Villanova on their home floor court, led from start to finish, won by 10 to boost our NET, on National TV to boot, who knows what potential recruits or transfers were watching but this was phenomenal advertising, and we are finding things to complain about. SMH, I will never understand this fan base.
