@Villanova, Sat. Feb. 4, 8pm, CBS Sports/570AM

Well, at least Ponds is filling up a stat sheet on a wasted night. Thought he was going to pitch a shutout a few minutes ago

I think he actually finished with 15 points. Which just proves that scorers will usually get their points, somehow.

In a unrelated Game, Kentucky brought a knife to a gun fight in Florida and is getting whacked by the Gators. Young Players, despite Talent are sometimes inconsistent.

Villanova's going to move up to #2 (assuming Gonzaga wins tonight), and Baylor will go down a bit, since they lost twice this week. Other then that, their was so much losing in the top 10 this week (today especially), that there probably won't be much movement at the top of the polls.

I thought we played a great game against Marquette. For the most part we played a terrible one tonight but give some credit to Villanova. They are one of the best teams in college basketball. Remember what they did to Oklahoma in the Final Four. They beat Seton Hall by 30 this year and Xavier by 25.

Why is Lovett on the bench? Why didn't he start? I didn't expect us to win this, but was hoping to at least make it competitive, which cannot happen with our PG on the bench. WTF Is Mullin thinking??

Had to be related to a practice or lateness situation. You don't sit this kid to start Owens and Yakwe. And if that is the real reason then Mullin is an idiot.

First of all, Mullin is not a Idiot. Jay Wright struggled mightily in his first couple of years at Nova. Why,?Limited talent of his players. This is tough league and you need a full roster just to compete. We don't have one yet. Give Mullin a chance to bring in some players and then complain if the Team doesnt improve.

Besides you can't let a Player break Team Rules or you will lose the whole team. We don't know what the reason was yet.. Lavin had his hands full with DLO and then the head cases, Jordan and Obepka. at various times, all 3 disrupted Team Unity.

Game never in doubt, effort sucked & moral victories are worthless. Get your stuff together this week & bring it all v Seton Hall Saturday. Nova is excellent, but we're not good enough to take a minute off. Tonight we did.

Agree but we took 15 minutes off in the first half! There was not one "intelligent" set play in the first 10 minutes and no leadership on the floor. Ellison was horrendous in every facet of the game. Ponds was taken out of the game by the refs with two touch fouls. Mussini can't guard a corpse if it was placed on the court and Owens taking 16 foot jumpers is as bad as Alibaba taking 30 footers. To top things off Yakwe returned to his role as the invisible man.
Hopefully the addition of Justin Simon and Clark remedies the Ellison and Yakwe dilemma in having to have them play significant minutes.

Does anybody read my posts???

It will be interesting to hear the story on Lovett from Mullin's Presser. To me, he isn't ready yet for next level, unless overseas. . it would be a shame to not see what he and Ponds could do, with more Talent everywhere on our Roster.

He was cramping. That is why he did not start

Yes, BOO. you said cramping Before the game and he needed to stretch and get loose.. Other wise, he could pull a muscle . But, we should still get a official statement.

Good luck with that. From what I've seen , this staff has been less than transparent with injuries.

I have absolutely no connections or inside sources. I can only report what I see. I was a few feet away and he was visibly limping. When the game started, he was lying on the baseline getting stretched out and seemed to be in discomfort. I've observed this a number of times during games.

Agree 100%. Is it me or is Ellison regressing? More careless passes, a slow learner? And I don't have the stats for tonight but how bad was Yakwe's rebounding. Even after having position Nova jumped over him more then once. And even the freshmen, Painter, outjumped him from behind. It's amazing that he can jump to block shots but is horrible rebounding.
DiVingenzo averages 7 points a game - enough said.
Started the game rushing our shots and moved the ball better in the second half.
Didn't take long for Alibegovic to throw the ball away. I'll ask once again, "Who in the world scouted him?"

Told Marcus LoVett didn't start because of a "minor disciplinary issue." #sjubb
