Villanova (MSG), Sat., Jan. 11 , 7p, CBSSN

I was at the game so am just reading these posts. Thank you very much for having faith in Wilcher. He only made the two plays that turned the game around. According to the basketball experts on this board, Pitino should have put him on the subway back to Queens. SMFH
This will be a defining run for him coming up. His teammates have to set him up better shooting and he has to step up and play stronger and more aggressive.

LMF, I am of the view that Kadary at least from what I have seen to date is the 5th best player on our team after RJ, Zuby, Smith and Scott.
Kadary also gets blown by regularly defensively.
Kadary has never been a great individual defender in space. He's crafty, uses his length/size and is good in traffic because of how quick and active his hands are. He had a stretch where he had like 3 deflections alone in one possession.

Sounded 90/10 on tv. Our fans were unreal. What a showing.
My guess in person 67-70% St. John’s fans but Nova won the pre game bar stuffing

This game had the best atmosphere I can remember in a long time. Lavins first year Pitt was my guess. Our fans got loud at the end

Better things coming and we are brining in past fans and building future fans

The buzz is most definitely real

He cuts off lanes so well to go with his ++ hands. He’s also strong as hell. He’s just not going to wow you with lateral quickness beyond a few slides.

His versatility is also just stupid. He covered their PG and Dixon the same possession and he wasn’t giving up anything to either. It just felt like 98-99 again.

In the friends and family room after the game Rick spoke of how proud he was seeing the restoration of the program. He said when he arrived, there was "no film room, no weight room, no refueling room". He is so proud of his guys. The game plan was to keep Dixon to a low percentage, and they did that. Said Deivon will likely miss Georgetown, but nothing more. His one question was, "Where's the bar?" He certainly deserved to celebrate tonight.
Did he talk about the Redmen rumors he would quit ? 😀

Was great meeting some of the posters on the site like Mike, SJU85 (who I go way back with) kranmars etc. on my annual NY hoops trip. A great game to be at as team showed a lot of fight in the midst of the adversity of losing Smith. Just a great night for me, my son and a few grandkids overall. I didn’t even get in trouble for use of foul language this year 😂👍.

That's because Kadary is the 10th best athlete, not the 10th best player. But he's at or near the top in understanding the game. People thought he was coming here to be a star but with a far better set of teammates he doesn't need to be that.

At times tonight I thought Nova dictated play but our team wore them down. I feel like I’m watching one of Huggy’s teams at WV. Also we haven’t come out flat in 1st half.

Pitino looked so happy during his press conference. He loves this team and its grit. His game plan using Scott on Dixon, and Luis on the Vill PG was brilliant. Using Luis there took away the Smith/Dixon switch mismatch Vill was counting on, and Scott was brilliant covering Dixon outside. Dixon looked so uncomfortable with Scott on him. Scott played over 38 minutes in this game!

Will the posters who claimed Rick was losing his fastball please raise their hand. There is a bushel of rotten tomataoes I want to have delivered. They earned every tomato. 🤣🤣🤣
