but the pandemic and having a baby at the beginning of 2020 changed my view on everything.

so for me, there's health considerations with added responsibilities that i never had to worry about before.

so when i have to consider my options of going to a game at MSG, Barclay's, or CA, i have to weigh the benefits.

do I really want to go see an inferior product with all these other things i now have to worry about?

i've been to 4 games since the 2020 season. so for me, it really is about the on-court product.

and never in my 25+ years of being a fan have i felt this much apathy.

with all my other personal responsibilities i can see myself slow drifting away....

I too have slowly drifted away. That's what happens after 20+ years of watching an inferior product on the court. But, put a quality product on the court and many who drifted away will return, along with a new generation of SJU fans. Provide a quality product and people will buy it. It's a basic business concept that seems to be lost on the school.

I agree. You can see it even in major league sports. If you don't put a quality team on the playing field, you won't find too many fans in the seats. How many times do you go back to see a bad movie?

Unless you absolutely need your car, drive to meet business partners, or drive to meet clients, why even bring your car to work on game day?
Take the train to work, after work depending on the time you get off, go to a bar or get something to eat, then head over to msg.

When I said go to game I meant leave my house and go directly to train station closest to my house and go to msg

I live in huntington and work in garden city so friday for instance that day I need to be in the office for meeting so I have to go to work then leave work drive back to cold spring harbor train station then take the train to msg. I do it because I rarely miss MSG games unless traveling but if I didnt have the meeting I'd just work from home and go to train station from my house it's much easier.

back into the city, thought you meant leave Manhattan, go to LI, drop your car off, and take the train back into the city, I was like that doesn't make any sense lol. OK nm I got it.

If I worked in manhattan I'd most definitely be at Tir Na Nog right after work waiting for the game to start :)

Yes , I have many times . 10$ gets you through the door downstairs , family friendly and you get endless appertizers . They usually start passing the food around 5:45 by 6:20 the food is gone so I would get there on the early side .

Martin Whelan is the majority owner of stout and is a proud St. John’s alum . It is our home base before the games where you get see a lot of familiar faces , and also get to make new friends . Easy to spark conversations when we all have a common passion for the team .

I’ll be there locked and loaded to cheer for our boys , good or bad , now , and forever .
