Villanova (MSG), Fri., Jan. 20, 7p, FS-1

As of 750 pm still have 1 ticket available. In one of the suites which includes food and drinks. Have feelers out to a few people but this will be first accepted first serve. No charge.

Wish I could take you up on this offer. Hope someone takes advantage on here. Cool that you're offering this up

Hopefully we keep the same aggressive play style we saw in the UConn game- driving and getting their guys in foul trouble will be key.

Nova has a very formidable starting 5 and a super sub in Armstrong. Outside of those 6 guys... and maybe a couple 3s from Hausen... thats it. Get Dixon/Slater in foul trouble early and keep the foot on the gas the whole game (not just the first 15 mins lol)

Real excited to see the crowd tonight- there will of course be a decent amount of Nova fans... hopefully not as much as in past years.

This does not seem to be a real endorsement of St. John's chances; that line is what a usual home team gets, right?
Think it went up to 4.5, which means-short of an injury to Nova- money going on SJU. Having said that, Vegas sees it as 2 evenly matched teams. That wasn't the case 2 weeks ago.

Hopefully Anderson does not try to use Soriano to guard Dixon. It did not work in the first game and it willnot work in this one. Stanley should start at PF and guard Dixon.

I too have slowly drifted away. That's what happens after 20+ years of watching an inferior product on the court. But, put a quality product on the court and many who drifted away will return, along with a new generation of SJU fans. Provide a quality product and people will buy it. It's a basic business concept that seems to be lost on the school.
Throwing in my two cents worth. Been going to games since 1980 with the exception of year they decided to put the award program in place where they raised the ticket prices and being a member of the Red/White club and the more you contributed gave you better seating options. I decided then I needed a break from an inferior on the court program and with three kids could find better things to do with my disposable income. I did return the following year.

In the last month or so I have really started to contemplate whether or not I will continue to buy tickets. Tired of watching mediocre basketball, hate the 6:30 games a CA (difficult for me to get to if am at the office) and a few other gripes. Really has me thinking about the money I've invested no wasted, watching the stuff for so many years.

We shall see but I did away with my Jets season tickets, I can do this too!

For some of us work from home makes it easier to go to games. A lot easier for me to leave from my house in Huntington and go to a game than go to work leave work at certain time drive home and drop my car off at train station then go back into the city
I know what you mean. I hate the 6:30 CA games for that reason. If I come into the office, I have to either leave early, go back to the Island, grab my car and drive in (the reverse commute on the LIE or Northern State is not as bad as those going in the peak direction but its getting close) or take the LIRR, get off and take a bus or uber to St. John's and do the reverse to get home if one of my family members doesn't come.

I had the option of working from home or the office and then go to tonights game but decided to use my one day of working from home a week on Tuesday since I was going to be in the city for the game anyway. Hope to see some of you at Stout for the pregame.

Yes I hear you, at some point enough is enough. Blind loyalty can only take you so far. Program has been in the dumps.

I remember last year when he came back from Covid and how a couple of poster (one in particular was adamant) how it made not sense that he was back but still in street clothes and not able to play. I mentioned that it could be from complications from COVID and was told that was ridiculous. After it was reported he was cleared and had indeed suffered from complications (I am not sure if they specifically mentioned his heart or not but IIRC it being implied) it was crickets from that particular poster. Lessons learned I hope. I had a suspension he had COVID again and didn't play for a few games and when they said he was "cleared to practice" I figure it was definitely the case. I take it there were no complications this time but I am sure they double downed on the testing they normally do just in case.

Sometimes, without having all of the facts, we are too quick to judge about injuries to a play or if they come down with an illnesses and take longer to get back on the court than we think they should.
