Villanova (MSG), Fri., Jan. 20, 7p, FS-1

I’ve been abnormally critical this year (deservedly so). Assuming I’m in the majority here but a Win Friday and I’m roped back in.

That said, much is being made of attendance. Win and the fans will come. We’ve been beaten down for 20 years. We can’t just let it go that easy.

Ugh! Famous last words. We lost by 15 to Nova earlier this year as I recall. I’ll take a win by any margin.

Yeah, you’re right, I’m probably feeling a bit overconfident after the UConn win but good feelings about this program are few and far between so I jumped at the opportunity. I should know better. Well, I still believe the Johnnies will win but not as handidly as I previously believed.

There’s been Creighton teams we match up worse with IMO. Not a team full of dead eye shooters that have given us trouble in the past. Scheriman is the one you really have to look out for. Kalkbrenner is great but if you can stymie Sanogo and Clingan I think you can do similar with Kalk.

Well then... it smells like a win streak brewing here in Jamaica Queens

See they Opened up the entire 200s on ticketmaster... rare to see ticketmaster the cheaper option than Stubhub/seatgeek for SJU.

4 tickets (want this W to be a family affair lol) in 222... 260 Face + 68$ in fees = 328$ total.... ooff.

Anyone know the Garden's policy on children? What age/size do they count as "needing a ticket"?

Go back to Mullin's last year to see what a reasonable expectation for what attendance can be. That team was good (not great) and got some buzz early in the season. Very good attendance at MSG.

A first round kid in Whitmore, beefy Ed Dixon who plays well against us, strong guard Caleb Daniels, athletic Slater and developing guard Armstrong is a group who will compete with us. SJU is not good enough to overlook them. Move on from UConn nice road win and treat this one as huge. Our margin of error for dance ticket is still a challenge. One big game at a time!

Have heard Dixon prefers “burly” but agree 100%

Wusu much better passer, defender and rebounder than Pinzon. I’m ok starting Wusu and bringing Pinzon off the bench. The sense I got from one of CMA’s prior press conferences was that Mathis’s injury was pretty severe. CMA said initial results were a sprain but that it could be worse. Out indefinitely

Plus, I like the idea of having some scoring off the bench. Pinzon provides that.

Closing out on Caleb Daniels is key. He has had some rough shooting performances this year and it's probably because he is not getting as many open looks created by the likes of Colin Guilespie. That said, when he sets his feet and has an open look, he can kill ya.

Any one know what is happening with Longino who had his best game against us in December? He hasn'tplayed the last few games.
