Really solid win , great for the team confidence as a whole, a win is always a win but let's not get excited and think our season has turned around. The real test will be Tuesday against creighton who will be ranked this week that would be a huge win for and could turn our whole season around. I think we can beat creighton without a doubt, it will give us out first win against a ranked team as well.

Confidence is building for Jakarr, Jamal, and Jordan every single game and lavin must keep that going . The rotation has been much better and we need to keep it that way . I hope everyone is seeing how much of a cancer phill Greene has been to our team he needs to get 6-10 min a game 10 min max! Lavin must keep playing Jamal esp cause he's not turning the ball over as much. The 3 guard rotation must be Jamal , Jordan, Harrison.






We're still not rebounding the ball well hopefully we can fix that as we are starting to fix a lot of things with our team as a whole. I like what I am seeing now tho great fu*king win !!! Lets go St. John's !!!!

Creighton had 21 three pointers against Nova. Can't zone them. Have to continue racing the ball upcourt.

and you cant double McDermott in the post especially off Wragge because he will find the open 3 pt shooter and they will bury it.
 
Ok guys maybe I was over reacting with saying he's a cancer . What I should of said was " how much better our team is without phill Greene " sometimes I tend to get real emotional after St. John games.

That is the best lineup we have right there. Branch changes the entire offense with his vision and passing ability. 8 assists tonight! 15 as a team following the 17 assist performance against SH. Three straight games with Branch averaging over 20 minutes. I like it!
 
They drove to the basket more this game than the last few games combined. This is the first time they appeared to have some set plays. And unlike last game, at the end they didn't play not to lose but to win. I wonder who drew up those plays? Keep it up.

I have always thought branch played a bit too fast for this team. With Sampson and Sanchez out there he has big men who can handle his passes and finish.

Best way to stop them is make them run all night. I wouldn't double McDermott to start. He'll need a healthy dose of Sampson and Pointer. He might be too good on the perimeter for Sampson, but Sanchez would foul out in 8 minutes on him!

This would be a great game for Obekpa to reemerge. We just have to do what they are most afraid we will do, run.

Apology accepted.

Greene was recruited to be a backup. Circumstances over the last two years have dictated him starting, but he should be about a 10 mpg guy now, IMO, and off the ball when he is in there.

I agree. I wonder if it was just a coincidence we played so well wo Greene. Sampson was a monster. Gift is surprising me and playing well.Great W. Lavin and staff did a nice job. The only negative is that CO is looking worse every game. Too bad we let the Providence game slip away we would have been 3-4 and within striking distance .

Team played much better today. I will temper my enthusiasm for obvious reasons.

Now I really hope I don't have to start hearing that Lavin is genius for figuring out that Branch (a top 50 rated recruit) is a better option than Phil Greene. This is something people on this board have been screaming about all season. It only took Lavin 20 games and a stomach virus to stumble upon it.
 
Great wins but tempered expectations going forward because this was a pretty weak butler teAm. I really hope Lavin keeps the rotation short going forward.

CO only played 6, maybe not feeling right. Way to beat Jays is to make them miserable. It's harder to pull off playing on the road the way fouls are called. We might have to go deeper in the rotation jumping out and playing the lanes. Can't bite on the ball fakes. When we get stuck in the half court wait out the clock , get to the rim, and crash the boards. Maybe they turn to spot the driver. I'm just guessing. What ain't they good at?
 
Q for my fellow STJ fans. I'm stuck at work until 6 - I can listen live to Minko on the radio while working, or shut down phone, turn off radio and go home and watch game on DVR without knowing what happened after 6....what do you guys think???
