Wouldn't the fact that the kid played for Dunlap cut against him coming here. Lavin obviously has a relationship with Dunlap -- can't see him poaching one of his kids.

It happens. Pitino Sr. Had a kid named Buckles who he left at Jrs.door step at FIU. Not the norm, but does occur occasionally.

Dunlap did not even want him on the team, why would he care where he goes?

That assumes that they have a good relationship. I do not believe that is true any longer.

Whether or not they have a good relationship, I think the connection b/w Lavin and Dunlap is more important. "Hey Dunlap, I saw you lost quite a scorer. Do you think he'd fit at SJU and in the Big East? Mind if I give him a call?"

Not a program changer Imo, was in JB dog house all year. Hopefully a change in scenery will benefit him.
