That will teach all of you never to trust my predicitions!

Not suprised this guy had takers. Averaged 11 ppg and 8 rpg in the ACC. 2 years left. Could be a key piece in 2015-16, if we get him.

This is an epidemic.

@jeffborzello: Missouri freshman Shane Rector is transferring. New York native.

He will leave Mizzou having never made a basket in over 100 minutes! But seriously, ideal for a local mid major.

I think it is time for the NCAA to go back and visit rules about transferring. Perhaps things have to be tightened up. The student has to sit one year, in most instances. Maybe it is time to make it 2 years before you can play at the new school. Hardship, is another area that I think the students have exploited more and more when transferring. Maybe a hardship should have to sit for a year before playing.
I don't know if this is the answer, but I do know something has to be done. When a kid is recruited, the school makes a promise to him that if he does his studies and does not get into trouble, he has a 4 year education payed for. At 50K/yr (tuition and room and board) you are talking over $200K. The student in turn promises that he will pursue that course. It's time to hold these kids accountable. If they don't like the rules they can leave any time they wish.

One quick fix is you get 4 years and if you transfer that counts as one of your years. The 5th yesr loophole is being exploited now as well.

Can he shoot?

He is going to visit but I don't think it will be Sunday. Sunday, 5/18, is graduation at SJU. Doubt Lavin will be entertaining visitors on that day.

@TheRecruitScoop: BREAKING: Oregon State transfer Hallice Cooke has committed to Iowa State.

@jeffborzello: Fred Hoiberg and assistant Matt Abdelmassih have done a tremendous job recruiting the transfer market. Hallice Cooke is the latest.

Kudos Matt!

Have to keep an eye on Matt and one day snatch him back home.

Marillac, are you sitting down? it is happening

@jeffborzello: Niagara guard Antoine Mason will head elsewhere for his final year of eligibility. He averaged 25.6 points last season.

@NYPost_Brazille: “@jeffborzello: Niagara's Antoine Mason will head elsewhere for final year of eligibility. He averaged 25.6 PPG.” Heard this was possible

Would be a tremendous addition! You would forget Max Hooper in a NY minute! He, Jordan and Harrison would be terrific in the starting lineup.

Hope you're right. The kid hit 28% from 3 and he's only 6'2". I hate the 3 guard lineup, but that's what we'll be short of Robert Carter committing.

@NYPost_Brazille: Regarding Antoine Mason transferring, expect Manhattan and Fordham to try to get involved. St. John's possibly as well.
