I think there is a group of kids among recruit candidates who want to play basketball, and have no inclinations at all to pursue academics. They see the D-League as a way of continuing basketball and they don't have to give studying a thought. I think that is why more and more are opting for this way to solve their dilemma.
That's true. But Tharpe was heading into his senior year and he was also going to be their starting PG. Doesn't make much sense to leave in that situation, just one year short of your degree. It would be like Harrison leaving at the end of last year.
