Did Mullin roll out of bed?

He was naked a few minutes prior to the pic. Threw that outfit on to retrieve the newspaper and when he opened the door, Scekic was standing there.

"It was a killer workout. Coach Mullin was a legendary player and he is a leader and I'm real impressed with the staff.--

Who is Scekic? Sorry if I missed any post regarding this guy.

Nikola Scekic is a 7'2 " 245 lb JUCO that played this year at same school as Bashir Ahmed. Was at New Mexico freshman year Seemed like ra ole player with 10 mpg and 4 pts , 2 rebs adapting to US game.

Would be great to just have a big body even in a limited capacity.

Highly doubt he comes here.

Could never debate with you because i'm obviously not on your level as far as connections ect... But as a fan it's crazy frustrating that a player of his skill set, which fits our needs better then just about anybody else who would offer him,,, and yet we can't land him.....

Happy never said we can't land him. He said he highly doubts he comes here.
2 very different statements.

Thank you. I'm still frustrated. But a little less

give me minimum 1 solid big man grad. We already have Dixon. Give me Heron if he becomes available I want him or give me either 1 to 2 either transfer forwards or big men who are either solid transfers who sit out or solid jucos or combination. Or Kante and 1 solid transfer who who sits who can play the 3 next year. Maybe numbers are off because I ate too much food just now but you get the drift

Have I said 10 times yet I wish we were on Juiston ? Would have been great because he was putting up solid rebounding numbers while we were on Ahmed

Shakur Juiston, the No. 1 ranked Junior college player in the nation will be taking an official visit to DePaul on Monday. #depauldriven

I hope DePaul lands this kid. Can only help the league of DePaul becomes competitive again.

Hey, I hope we land someone to help us become competitive again after unexpectedly losing 4 recruits!

It's hard to go through 48 pages of posts in this thread so I apologize, in advance, if this was posted and I didn't see it

Michael Weathers, a transfer from Miami of Ohio and a St John's target, has committed to Oklahoma State as per Zags

Which four recruits did we unexpectedly lose?

Four players signed by this staff who did not have to leave but did were Sima, Freudenberg, Ellison and Williams. There was talk of Mussini and Alibegovic also and of course we all were entertained by the Marcus Lovett drama and then there was little Matt's salary Twitter episode and the super mysterious disappearance of our super paid super recruiter,
Other than that the program is progressing as planned and we are in great shape with any future recruits because We Are.........

P.S. had Lovett, Mussini and Alibegovic also left, along with Matt, losing 7 players and both your top recruiters would be all the fodder opposing coaches needed to recruit against us with players. Not exactly the sign of stability many hoped for.

Only one problem with your analysis, we didn't lose Matt, Lovett, Mussini or apparently alibegovic. In fact, all our core players are coming back. In this day and age, that's actually pretty impressive.

Get a decent big man for next year and i think we're well-positioned.

The problem with my analysis is that the school year is not over and we can still lose a player.
There are no decent big men at this stage of the game. That is why we spent a leisurely day with Nikola.
That we have to hope that two freshman stay beyond next season is a sign of future instability. Most 6 foot players of their caliber leave for the pros and neither would be ready after next season either.
Unless it is for projected draft position the despicable North Carolina program never loses players. After two seasons we lost 5 and came close to losing 7. How many programs in the Power 6 lost 4 players this year that were in the rotation? Keep your fingers crossed that it ends there this year...core players or no core players.

It is still too early to evaluate the transfer in transfer out process in its entirety but certainly the decision of Ellison to leave has to be viewed as a plus. He played considerable minutes for the past two seasons and after seeing the talent of Simon all year in practice he makes the decision to sit out a year somewhere else.
Had he stayed would have been a bad sign.

I disagree. It is a sign we are recruiting players with unrealistic expectations of themselves vis-a-vis their long term desire to improve within the team concept. So as not to ruffle North's feathers, he needed four years because after two years he continued to make poor decisions on the court. Mullin was OVERLY generous with his playing time but was smart enough to start pulling him after bad decisions this season. Apparently that did not sit well with Purvis who got nervous over his son's game management. I understand it had nothing to do with Simon having great practice sessions. I want players willing to fight for playing time unless they are a 5 star McDonald's AA and even they sit on the bench patiently at Kentucky, UNC and Kansas. When your 3 star players demand more than impact players I say "don't let the door hit your ass on the way out".
Of course more diplomatic fans here would say " Good Luck". I have little patience with those same players who directly affect the 4 year plan because when you have 3 in one year it leads to recruiting scrambling and thus, our current situation.

RF was not in the rotation so it's really 3. But honestly, what program doesn't lose that amount almost every season. We are lucky to have lost 3 role players and a reserve. Many programs lose their top players often.

When Ellison was recruited I'm sure he was a stretch recruit but what else was there for the staff to recruit that year at that late date with a totally barren roster. I feel the staff is correcting that but two years ago was a desperate situation.

Duquesne transfer Isiaha Mike tells me he will visit SMU this weekend and also plans to visit Oregon. - Rothstein

Pretty sure we were looking at this guy. Doesn't look like he's interested.
