Transfers SJU May Get Involved With

I do like that we are going after Ed Morrow. With I-Mike out, Morrow is #1 on my "transfer-sit" list.

That said, at the risk of re-beating a twice dead horse, a grad transfer big is by far the most crucial need. It would be a real shame to waste a year of Lovett, Ponds, Simon, Clark and Owens with nothing else in the paint.

Actually It would be unfair to Lovett, Ponds, Simon, Clark not bringing in the Big man they need. Lovett didn't sign on for an extra year to have a 6'7 center that loses every opening tip.

And fumbles every pick and roll and pocket pass.

agreed and I should have mentioned without a big man eligible for next year then I'll be pissed. Call it monday after work delirium and I wasn't thinking straight

Grad big prognosis looking like; :)

I trust your info Paultz. If true MAJOR fail for the staff.

There is a kid at LIU who would have solved the problem and Matt super recruiter didn't waste any effort with him while he and Mullin entertained Andre the Giant as a "favor", which, imo, will never be repaid.
Plan B has officially proceeded to Plan C.

In fairness, Matt had little to do with the big Juco kid's visit apparently. Looks like he will decide soon btw;

In all fairness that sure sounds like CM an MA are not on the same page.

In the end, I am starting to get that dead feeling that I usually get walking out of the Garden after another disheartening season.

I see us having a chance at the NCAA Tourney if we can get a functional big. A one year option. ML AND possibly SP will leave after next season and we will yet be spinning wheels again.

I too am beating the proverbial dead horse but as usual this is not sounding good.

Matt A is taking questions on twitter

No names obvs., but can we expect a decent graduate transfer big for next season?

you can expect a big that will help. - Matt A

Kante probably? Doesn't sound like he is going after a grad transfer.

Matt Abdelmassih‏ @mabde33

adding 1 more piece (a big) is the only focus. We feel like we have a very talented group next season.

Just kidding around

I take everything literal at this point. its been years. I would hate for an opportunity for a meaningful season to slip away when I think a little help up front is what we need. :nervous:

At this point, if grad transfer not in the cards, better to grab the 7 footer and Kante for depth. And sounds like Kante is not in bag.

He also said that we can expect a BIG who will help for next season so while I'll remain frustrated until we get something official, I believe him. Loved what he said about Simon and Clark

Simon:
elite elite defender ridiculous at finding the open man. Very excited about having him. Has worked so hard this year

And, not to beat another dead horse, but I have not heard (or missed) an explanations as to why Williams (who seemed to be happy and pumped most of the time) decided to leave. Anyone heard a plausible reason?

I don't know much about twitter - nor do I want to :) but I very much appreciate what you made available - sounds not just good but very much so = Matt's replies - he seems to know we will get that one big NOW and be a very good team 2017-18!

BTW The P25 represents?

I hope the 7footer or/and Kante is a presense in the paint, then we better hope Yakwe returns to how he played as a freshmen. If any of the 3 don't happen then we're F'ed

they are all improving but biggest jump from last season- Owens & Yakwe

-Matt A

I'm not sure about Yakwe, but if Owens really has improved we're in good shape.

I thought Owens improved during the season. Made better decisions, gradually decreased the bad fouls. Led the team in Hustle.
